Hillary Clinton announces she will run for presidency

Quote:

Hillary Rodham Clinton is running for president, according to her chief of staff John Podesta, who announced the launch quietly to a group of donors via email on Sunday.
'I wanted to make sure you heard it first from me -- it's official: Hillary's running for president,' Podesta wrote.

He said the former secretary of state 'is hitting the road to Iowa to start talking directly with voters. There will be a formal kickoff event next month.'

'We need to make the middle class mean something again,' Podesta's email closed. 'We can do this.'

Podesta leads the Podesta Group, one of Washington's most powerful lobbying firms. He was a senior adviser to President Barack Obama until February.

Mrs. Clinton was expected to launch her long-awaited presidential campaign on Sunday during the hours of the day when she could expect the least immediate pushback – while most Americans were in church.

The campaign's internal schedule had called for a 12:00 p.m. tweet linked to a video, revealing the worst-kept secret in America to more than 3 million online followers.
But shortly after noon, Democratic operatives in Iowa and New York began telling reporters that there would be a delay. 'She's taking her time,' one told Daily Mail Online, 'trying to build anticipation.'

I like her but I think the Republicans might get it. Hope they don't though, they're really backwards and old-fashioned in their views

I read that as "Hillary Clinton announces pregnancy".

Based on the trend with the congressional/senate elections on the recent years, both on which the Republicans won (actually the Reps have won the last three Congressional elections), i would expect Democrats and her in the process to lose this.

Even though if itīs a completely different election.

Ugh, not looking forward to Hilary at all. Sadly she's going to have too much money for anyone else to compete in the primaries/caucuses against her. Much rather have Elizabeth Warren.

I do think that the Republicans will be out in droves though to make sure that a Republican is in the white house.

They probably won't even care if the new president is controlled by the Koch Brothers.

Not to mention I live in Iowa (who have the first caucus or primary), meaning I'm going to see the Hilary/anti-Hilary ads starting tomorrow more than likely since the caucus is in next January.

Very poor choice. Elizabeth Warren is by far the best democratic candidate, Clinton will just be more of the same

It looks like Jeb Bush is the front runner for the GOP candidacy. Twenty years ago it was Bush V Clinton it looks like not much has changed.

Tinfoil hat alert:

There has been an aggressive and fully constructed "ultra feminist" agenda gearing up for several years that I rather strongly suspect is linked to and geared towards creating a mindset in the US that would all but guarantee the election of the "first female president".

However, I suspect that they have ballsed it up by pushing it too far and too aggressively, and the resulting backlash and rejection will go against her.

I don't really know enough about her policies and the like for me to have a well formed opinion on her at the moment. Will read up on her later in the year.
