And 'Newspapers' were needed no more
'Cos we just read the graffiti on the door.
And there was never any loo roll left!
So even 1p cost was just pure theft.

The morning after a spicy curry
It's nice not having to worry
about having to Find A Loo
To unload that Vind A Loo.

So dear Hog do not complain
that 30p is money down the drain
For me it is my firm belief
'tis cheap to gain such relief.

Just to get some worth for the money i just parted.

Meh. Around here theres a tesco or a wetherspoons on every corner pretty much and they let you use the loos for free :hmph:

(though I have NEVER been able to just use the loo in a pub/restaurant, I always feel like I should buy something...so really my 'free' wee ends up costing like 2 quid for my half of coke :laugh: )

I don't understand why we are so obsessed with monetising everything. Something as basic as going to the toilet is a necessity and should be free.

It costs money
to keep clean
not every Council
can afford the funding

In some public loos in Leeds they've been 20p for a long time that's a small price to pay to have an attendant in situ to keep the place clean, as said there are places to go if you want to go for free.

Slightly off topic - Every documentary I've watched; Street Crime, Night Cops etc, usually shows up 3 cop vehicles and to 5 cops tackling a guy peeing in the street and he gets issued with a £40,.00 On The Spot fine. Not bad 'Cost Effectiveness' - cost up to £1,000 to collect £40.00? Still, it's a dearer pee than 20p or even 40p for the perpetrator

I have no idea why no-one has yet come up with the concept of a porta potty and then banks to deposit said used potty's into. Could be a great little earner, and would be great for the environment.

I was calculating the probable cost of 3 police vehicles and 5 cops pissing about (no pun intended) with a dirty drunk for half an hour or more all for a £40.00 fine. So I agree on the fine being larger. It should at least cover the cost to the tax payer.

i think you lot are forgetting something - where are the police to arrest these people ? are they going to wait in every street incase someone needs a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ?
