The prisoner tv series

I recall my dad used to love this show, which I simply didn't understand.

I do however recall seeing the opening many years ago and it intrigued and scared the heck out of me

I haven't seen the whole series but did watch a few episodes

did anyone watch this show, it appeared to be way ahead of its time and rather unbritish in its ambition and exoticness ....it was all very weird artistic surreal and seem to ride strongly the sybollic allegorical meanings of everything.......or maybe it was literally just a prison camp where any man who didn't submit was hunted down by a ginormous white balloon?

I bought the Whole Original Series
on 1080P BluRay Box Set

Its a Work Of Art.

It was one of the best series ever. At the time I didn't really understand much of it, but when I watched it years later I enjoyed it more because I understood it better.
Isn't the town where it was filmed in Cornwall?

No

[The exteriors for the series were primarily filmed in Portmeirion village near Porthmadog, North Wales]

I watched an interview earlier with the late great Patrick mcgoohan...he said hed made a previous tv series and had visited portmeirion one time and found it the most extraordinary place....I went there once as a kid and it is more than extraordinary its almost other wordly....its a place on the side of a mountain by the north wales beaches where some eccentric local multi millionaire decided to save abandoned buildings around the world and bring them back to the portmeirion village....the whole tv show didn't really need a set......you can stay there too, highly recommended

as for pat mcgoohan, the interviewer asked him how would you like the show to be remembered in 1 line and mcgoohan said it his own strange inimitable way, "ill be seeing YOU"
