Jimmy Greaves fighting for life after 'severe stroke'...
..apologies if a thread has already been made...
The 75-year-old Tottenham and England legend Jimmy Greaves is in hospital in intensive care. The 75-year-old's family reported the news that Greaves is intensive care following a "severe stroke". The Essex-born Greaves is a hugely popular figure within English football, and one of the most successful strikers in the history of the game. He began his career with Chelsea, but went on to play for AC Milan, Tottenham - where he was the key forward in a twice FA Cup-winning side - and West Ham. He was also England's top striker for many years, scoring 44 goals in 57 appearances - though injury ruined his chances of lifting the World Cup, since an injury in the quarter-final saw Geoff Hurst take his place, and keep it, all the way to the final of the 1966 tournament. After retirement he enjoyed a long and successful career as a pundit, with his catchphrase "It's a funny old game" still being widely heard today. https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs...093727183.html |
