Is it pointless to audition (as an average person/civilian) for bb these days?
It seems like all the housemates just get recruited?
|
Yes, unless you've ****ed or met a celeb
|
Omg they dont, Think every BB16 housemate auditioned, all these people that have being on a another TV show for like 2 mins are normal, its not hard to get on deal or no deal etc. There are a lot who are just normal like Jade who auditioned, the 2 young boys, Think this thing that there all recruits is a myth lmao. The Ricci best friend guy is normal, he's a builder, honestly you stand a good chance if your interesting.
The reason BB probably chooses the people its does is because all the normal ones seem like crack heads, go an youtube and watch their VT, bored within the first second. |
Totally pointless, everyone that goes in seems to already have a nice lifestyle/ sum of money as well.

Im guessing Nick and Eileen are the only ones that come from wealthy backgrounds. |
I would guess so, Jemal.
Today's BB requires at least two years reality TV experience. Or a few X Factor appearances might count. |
Some do genuinely audition (not sure about anyone in this years cast). Although for the most part you do seem at a disadvantage if you do go through the application without agents or contacts that can link you up with Big Brother.
|
Yeah most as Reece said seem to be well off or have had some sort of TV or socialite experience. I don't think Reece was menacing from a wealthy background Will but i don't think any will be suffering. Saying that there is a very small handful such as Chloe, Jack, Harriet and Adjoa who don't seem to have lavish lifestyles or brushes with fame.
|
Because they have links to famous shows/people doesn't mean they didn't audition
|
Waste of time... Too many ex this and ex that...models/wannabes/footballers exes/kiss and tell desperadoes...Don't tell me they cannot find a good selection of 'normal' people with huge personalities to put on. I am not saying there are not some of those in there this year but get rid of the desperate wannabes and we could have just a genuine good series.

Bring back chavs like Lesleh and Emma Greenwood |
Harriet seems quite common, as does Chloe. Only a chav would get so pissed they end up being arrested, and throws the word '*****' around.

That's a shame. Get interesting folk in there

Most the housemates who probably audition now are **** so I'm happy we are getting recruits
|
It seems you're at an advantage if you have an agent of some sort, or you've been in the public eye before. But then again, like I said in a separate thread a couple of days back, there are an abundance of shows out that will catapult people into the spotlight these days. It's easy to become 'famous' via Twitter, or YouTube. It's not hard to become a Z-Lister anymore. Anybody and everybody seems to have an agent or management these days.
I remember when Channel 4 aired a couple of special episodes prior to the premiere of Big Brother one year, which gave us an insight into the contestants auditioning and the genuine set of rounds that they were put through, before then being shoved in a fake Diary Room for a conversation with Big Brother. We'd never see anything like that now. |

I don't think it's much different now, except with fewer extreme eccentrics thn in the C4 years. Chloe/Harriet/Jack are the standard "regular" people and there's always been models in the mix. |
I auditioned for BB9, back in 2008. When I was 18.
I got quite far, although they don't tell you how many stages. I felt like I was nearing the end. |
No one official said anyone was recruited people just assume, most of these people are fame hungry enough to audition.
|
no its not pointless to audition, if you have a link with a tv show.
done. |

Today, we get the professional housemate. |

A lot of these new housemates certainly don't seem to be recruited, in fact I think a couple even mention the auditions during interviews.
