This series feels very Channel 4.

Marcus toned down.
Music montages toned down.
Editing.
Having continuity in between scenes.
Showing the diary room door and button whilst housemates are in the diary room.
Fair editing of all housemates.
No engineered conflict - very natural atmosphere.

Hope things stay like this. I imagine the twist that will rock the house tonight, will throw all the above out of the window.

Lostie! 15-05-2015 01:37 PM

I think Marcus has been just as bad so far. His eviction announcement on the first night was even more glaring than usual, and his "Seconds out, ROUND TWO!!!!!" last night was awful. He needs to stop shouting.

I'm loving the series itself so far, though. The dynamics are really interesting, I just don't want them to excessively meddle. I'm both excited and apprehensive about tonight's twist.

Still very early days though. I hope that they stick with this

I agree. DS seems to think the same. Last night bar the start, there was no cheesy music, stupid montages etc...Great editing too. The HMs as of now have been all shown in both good/bad sides. As of now, it seems like it's a fair representation of what's going on.

It's feeling fresh and a complete change from last years series. Think it could be because the new controller or w/e is from the channel 4 era?

I heard that, yep. Apparently the person was in the C4 team years ago for the show.

DS are annoying.
They moan and moan about the show, yet they jump in joy when it gets renewed for another 3 years.

I remember back in 2010, during CBB7/BB11, DS were all over the montages like ants on sugar. These days they find any little thing to blame C5 about.

Lol, but I'm saying that DS are thinking the same as you. The overall feeling is positive on DS.

True.

But compare Day 2 of BB16 to Day 2 of BB15/CBB15.

In BB15 at this point, Pauline already saw everyone's VTs which is what caused the divide in the first place.

How embarrassing. I must've read wrong.

Still, there are some negative Nancy's on DS.
Especially before the show started.

A lot seemed to brand the BB16 launch as crap, because they had an eviction. Yet, this is the same people who moan at the producers for doing the same thing over and over again, i.e secret rooms and bedsits.

When ever they do something different, they receive just as much dogs abuse as they do when they do a secret room.

I did laugh I will admit, but yeah agreed

Jason. 15-05-2015 02:15 PM

I hope there isn't a divide this series.

Beetlejuice 15-05-2015 02:18 PM

It doesn't feel fresh to me. Same stupid app voting. Same over-reliance on twists. No live coverage. Evictions without public votes. Everything that was bad about last years show is repeating itself.

If they actually did what the fans really wanted and what the show needs they'd be praised to the hilt.

Firewire 15-05-2015 02:22 PM

I agree but there's still some really tacky editing though. I guess we can't have everything.

Jake. 15-05-2015 02:25 PM

It's the housemates which make it feel that way, the editing is no different

I hope there is, they normally make compelling viewing (I don't count BB15 as a divided house, bar the first few weeks which were actually good). After that it wasn't divided imo.

I cringed so much at that last night, it really was terrible. Still, apart from that last nights show was a good watch.

(Here it is if anyone's a fan of Marcus sounding like he needs a lozenge).

LukeB 15-05-2015 02:32 PM

Is it only me who does not like 1:09am bla bla? I use to when Marcus was not annoying but now i can't stand him anymore

In what universe wasn't BB15 divided?
The whole series thrived on Team Helen Vs. Team Ashleigh.

That trial task pretty much symbolized the divide within the Final 6.

Granted it wasn't as bad as the BB6 and BB13 house divides, but BB15 was a divided house, in general.

Beetlejuice 15-05-2015 02:35 PM

House divides can be interesting. But when it's essentially "We don't want to sit with them because all they talk about is sex" it's all very dreary.

It was divided early on whilst people lik Pauline and Toya were there, when it was actually good TV. It wasn't later on though, as much as BOTS tried to spin it was, it was just Ashleigh and Helen who disliked eachother, the others got on fine unless BB manipulated something. It wasn't a house divide at all imo, apart from the beginning, it was just two girls who culdn't stand each other and a load of extras who got on.

BB5, BB6, BB7, BB9, BB10 and BB13 all had far stronger divides.
