Cristians past... his DR breakdown makes sense now

Very surprised this was not mentioned at all on his VT or by the press before, but this is on this site.

http://cristianmjc.com/biography/

Born in Blackburn England with a benign tumour on the left side of his head, he was raised in the village of Mellor near Blackburn. At the age of 3, he suffered from a rare disease known as Kawasaki’s Syndrome, which can be fatal. This caused total deafness in his left ear, which led to numerous hospital admissions and outpatient appointments.

The removal of the tumour left Cristian MJC with a large scar and combined with his deafness created problems with classmates and teachers who didn’t understand his deafness properly. This lead to him attending 4 primary schools in total.

After witnessing the death of both his maternal grandparents, and the effects ‘Meningitis’ had on his father, he became sure he wanted to study medicine and become a doctor. What fascinated him, was possessing the ability to alleviate the pain suffered by many, through his own personal skills.

People online were laughing at his breakdown and a few posters said (on DS) "Oh yeah, I'm sure you had a tough life". Never judge anyone. You don't know what someone has gone through. You can't assume someone has had an easy life based on how they act, they look etc...

Surprised he didn't use this a sob story, that's respectable tbh. Very sad story.

Wow.

Tbh he'd have done himself a few favours if this had been mentioned, because at the minute he looks like a bit of a cock.

What a guy, I'll always defend him on here :worship:

Same.
I think people are too quick to judge. Especially on DS.

Mystic Mock 16-05-2015 07:50 PM

Well done to him for not using it unlike some contestants that shall remain nameless.

Gusto Brunt 16-05-2015 07:56 PM

Liked him from the word go.

Glad I wasn't one of those who made fun of his diary room breakdown. :)

jyunga 16-05-2015 07:57 PM

It's his own website though... you don't think anything in there is exaggerated to help drive his music career?

Why would he make something that up? That's ridiculous.

There is no exaggeration in that bio, just facts, and I doubt he would make something like that up.

I did wonder about his scar.
It's sad to read about his past, I give him credit for not using it in his VT.
I think he's trying to compensate over it by working out and proving himself in so many ways to be "one of the group" - so he got frustrated when it seemed not to work. I think he'd better off losing all of this and not trying too hard to impress (that's however why I didn't warm to him) - it will be then when he'll really shine.
Good luck to him with that.

That's such a shame! It's great he's overcome such troubles.

I wonder if he'll ever let the other housemates know.

With respect, many people overcome disabilities in their lives. He clearly doesn't want it to be an influencing factor, so why should anyone else try to make it one

True, but it doesn't stop those sob stories on X Factor and BGT. So my respect is there that he didn't mention it in the VT to garner up sympathy.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 16-05-2015 08:07 PM

Poor bloke

Jemal 16-05-2015 08:15 PM

It does say alot about him not to use it in his VT.
I always did wonder what that scar was

Trasadkel1 16-05-2015 08:16 PM

Credit to him. He has had a tough life by the sound of it.
