Caring about the maggots

Eileen saying that she hopes the maggots don't get killed afterwards was so cute. I hope she doesn't go on Friday, and so do the maggots :fist:

JoshBB 20-05-2015 10:47 PM

Yeah that was really sweet that she cares about animals so much. #Eileen4GreenPartyLeader

rusticgal 20-05-2015 10:54 PM

No she wasn't. I think that's very much her own opinion. She seems like a really caring person.

Why? Because she cares for lives even as small as a maggots?

I care about living creatures....if she cares so much perhaps she should have mentioned the poor squid...the poor creatures that no longer have feathers...the waste of lychees when there are people starving in the world....

Seriously...her comment was pathetic and shallow.

I personally think she's genuinely concerned for the right to life of each tiny maggot. She has a genuinely caring side under all that make-up and Botox.
It's her one redeeming feature.

rusticgal 20-05-2015 11:27 PM

if she is going to play the 'wolfy' character why does she wear make up and have Botox...dread to think what little creatures suffer in order to justify her vanity.
Let's not get too deep though...just double standards IMO.. If she wants to start playing the martyr she needs to take a closer look at herself.

I have the same attitude. If compassion makes me pathetic in your eyes, so be it. :)

I see no reason to believe that.

BBDodge 20-05-2015 11:29 PM

They should all be allowed to metamorphose into flies then see how much she appreciates them flying around the house.

So, along with being pathetic, it's also "a role". Good to know.

andybigbro 20-05-2015 11:39 PM

I understand what she's saying, and I do believe that in a sense.

However I can't help but feel it was fake.

The reason I don't believe it was fake is because I'd be feeling the same and I know it's not a fake trait on my part.

I don't think Eileen is playing any character, let alone Wolfy (who if i remember correctly, said she could talk to animals/insects)
She could wear make-up that isn't tested on animals, I do..
I don't know enough about Botox to comment on that.
Yes she could have mentioned the squid but the difference was they were already dead, they wasn't flung into a bath and had someone sit on them whilst they was still alive, so i'm guessing that's why she only commented on the maggots, she was obviously worried they'd just be killed off after the task.
I think you're looking too far into it tbh, she wasn't making a big deal as to "play the martyr" or come across as a Wolfy type, she just said she hoped the maggots weren't killed.

I know I get that but I just felt it was out of the blue. Just because it isn't a fake trait on your part doesn't mean it's not on hers. You don't have an agenda, she does. She wants to stay in the house, so it could have been a ploy to get votes. I'm not saying it is, but you can understand why people may be sketchy.

I agree with what she is saying, I do feel that everything's life is valuable. Having said that I am a culprit of killing bugs. I'm not happy about it but I've done it.

Hopefully it was sincere, but at this stage i'm uncertain. The way she went about it just seemed "forced"

I thought it was totally weird and I reckon she only did it for airtime if I am honest. I really liked her up to last nights highlights show when she was complaining about the young ones. THAT was the very reason some of them voted for her. I cringed when I saw her tonight in the diary room pleading the maggots case Yeuch
