Nominations: Will we ever get honest noms again?

So last week face to face nominations, most of them weak excuses or cop-outs...
And this week they get played to the house after the fact.

Will these housemates ever nominate in earnest again, or are they all going to get wise to BB and just use sugar coated reasons from now on?

Does this ruin the heart of nominations for the viewers??

And this week

Most of them weak excuses or cop-outs IMO.

It's all tactical voting in there.
Most only think about who they want out anyway.
Not what the public might think of them.

Spiritual my bottom !

Isnt that the point of BB though?
If not they should just put every housemate up for eviction every week but that would really defeat the original concept around BB & its whole housemate-to-public concept. They are in the house they should get 1st choice.

Also... Last week it was the 2/3 or more with the most noms up, whereas this week it is anyone with 2 nominations.

The whole show is joke. They said they would reveal the "twist" tonight but nothing.

I'd have to think hard to come up with a show more poorly produced than this programme

My thoughts exactly

Why get them to give reasons??
Just let them say two names then

Well yeah maybe it is.

Depends what HM's and the public think.

Obviously there's different tactics they can use.

Most HMs are thinking "survival"
And trying to knock out their competition.

But e.g. maybe Joel is thinking his tactic / gameplan is to be honest.
So if he goes up, the public might save him anyway.

Nothing wrong with either approach.

I do take the point HMs might stop dishing the dirt on their HMs so much.

Just don't buy HMs will always tell the truth nomming in the diary room.

Yes.

BigBrotherfan4ever 27-05-2015 06:26 AM

Im getting really fed up with nomination twist every week, would love if they done normal ones for a while.

Unfortunetly I doubt it. We hardly had nominations last year. The only time we did was when Marlon was evicted.

The producers have frankly destroyed the longest running BB institution which was nominations

Arron's face when he gets a nom is funny. And Jack's too, he presents himself as friend to everyone, so it is kinda enjoyable watching him squirm when people find out who he picked.

So far I've been happy with the drama and repercussions manufactured from the noms. However going back to the regular way might seem a bit dull now.

mrflibble 27-05-2015 07:11 AM

I don't even understand why they have a rule that you can't talk about nominations when they just show everyone the nominations in some way or another anyway.

Josy 27-05-2015 07:12 AM

We barely get honest nominations these days anyway

I've thought that too. Since noms get aired to the house, or they do the noms in front of each other, why not just allow them to talk about it.

Considering noms for the last two years have hardly been private it kind of defeats the object of the "no talking about noms" rule.

waterhog 27-05-2015 07:44 AM

there seems to be a slip up with the rule as i clearly heard them discussing them in last nights show.

mrmattybeck1 27-05-2015 07:46 AM

Nope

I think that will be the twist, because they were all talking about noms, they will all be up for eviction

I wouldn't mind seeing that. Hope that happens.

Josy 27-05-2015 07:52 AM

The thing is, they can't really punish for talking about noms when the noms have been made known to the housemates

Pretty sure BB punished them in the last season or 2 for discussing face to face noms

Anyway, we will find out some time before friday I guess :joker:

remember when BB would say 'not connecting/their too old is insufficient reason for

nomination......please give adequate reason............'

This is a sore point for me.I think your right and also feel that BB should be stricter RE enforcing valid reasons because so often imo what should be an interesting part of the show becomes PR or attempted damage limitation as per your above.

I think the show is at a crossroads. It has slowly changed from its original content in many ways, but with nominations in particular, it is becoming more and more of a strategy/game like BBCan or BBUS. Now officially, it is not at all about housemates you like or dislike, or do or don't want to live with, and BB is the one beating that out of them by removing that element of confidence of the housemate talking to BB.

But as most have said, can they continue on with rules such as not discussing nominations, and having valid reasons for nominations, when the backbone for those rules has now been ebbed away?
I think these rules will logically be the next to go, as all the formats for BB, in the english speaking countries at least, begin to become the same across the board.
