Perspective wise... Canadian Woman's Soccer is the only legitimate soccer team we have, (our men's team  ) and all rivalrys against the U.S. are everything to us... In Soccer, in Women's Hockey, in every sport, it is always us vs them.

Canada vs US always gets front page news and prime TV airing...
That Olympic game made it even more so </3

Soccer isn't followed here like it is in Europe Kyle,

And I am in Western Canada where the league teams are provincial, and have little to no coverage or following tbh...

But everyone cheers on Team Canada. Canadian Jerseys are pretty much the only ones bandied about

Not in the same since that you do over there... I am not sure how to explain it because it isn't the number one sport that I follow personally, but I know that there are smaller clubs within the cities that youth and teens climb their way up through, and that Provincials is pretty much the goal of these youth before hitting team Canada if you are good enough.

Soccer is actually a pretty young sport for us, it doesn't have deep roots here, but it is the fast growing sport in terms of involvement, sponsorships, etc

Oh yeh, I meant like how you said how soccer was a big topic in your family I thought they might have followed it at club level but I didn't read your post property it was cos they had family that played it.

Mokka 06-06-2015 10:01 PM

Right, at a provincial level

Kyle 06-06-2015 10:06 PM

Ha you also said female soccer. It would probably help if I actually read people's posts through before commenting but then again I don't even read my own posts through before posting so mmm penis I have no chance really. I could be saying anything and I wouldn't know.

I have no idea how far west Java is but Vancouver has an MLS team and that's west from a club perspective. (There's 3, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver)

I think there's a women's league in the states but there's not a single team in Canada so far but the Canadian FA is involved in the league along with the USSF and Mexican FA.

US actually has a English National as it's coach but she immigrated to the US at a young age.

Mokka 07-06-2015 03:04 AM

Vancouver has the Whitecaps...

When I lived there I followed them a bit, and got out to one game,
But now I'm in Saskatchewan, and league soccer doesn't reach us here at all really.

All I have now is the CFL and the Saskatchewan Roughriders :hehe:

MTVN 07-06-2015 02:06 PM

Terrible penalty decision, some definite home bias at play
