Helen - Now and then

What are your feelings on Helen now and what were they during her own series?

Vicky. 15-06-2015 10:55 AM

Pretty much the same, never thought much of her, but she did deserve to win IMO. My main dislike for her came from the fact that she was instantly in the final, I did not like that one bit and found it massively unfair, but that wasn't her fault.

She seems more tolerable when I think we only have a week of her though

andybigbro 15-06-2015 10:56 AM

Hated her then and hate her now.

I'm going to find this week hard to watch. She just angers me so much

MrWong 15-06-2015 10:59 AM

Disliked her then and still do.

Tarryn 15-06-2015 11:00 AM

Helen would have gone in week three or four last year without her immunity pass.
NOT a worthy winner.
She is even worse now as she thinks she is something special as she won.
A truly horrible human being.

Pretty much this^

This week is going to be the Helen show.

She lacks social skills and awareness. I really wish they hadn't brought her back:nono:

LukeB 15-06-2015 11:01 AM

Didn't like her then and i don't like her now

JOFLO 15-06-2015 11:03 AM

liked her then, like her now (sorry :wavey:)

Lostie! 15-06-2015 11:04 AM

Never liked her (apart from launch night before we saw how awful she is), never will like her.

Tom4784 15-06-2015 11:06 AM

She was a vicious bully then and nothing has changed now. One of the worst winners ever.

smudgie 15-06-2015 11:09 AM

Out of The final two last year, she was my winner.
Really do not like her attitude so far as a leg end.

Calderyon 15-06-2015 11:11 AM

Didnīt like her then, wonīt like her ever.

Ellen 15-06-2015 11:14 AM

I dont mind her, she speaks her mind as she see's it. Sometimes she is right in what she says & sometimes she is not.

JoshBB 15-06-2015 11:14 AM

Used to like her, now hate her.

Ammi 15-06-2015 11:15 AM

...I didn't like her especially toward the end of the last series because of how spiteful she was but was fine with her winning because I genuinely thought that she may have 'gone on a journey' and look back at vids and her behaviour etc and how she speaks to people and judges them but she doesn't seem to have so I guess there is no 'excusing' this time for me and she's just a mean spirited person who has no reason to be/she has a child/earns good money etc and has every reason to not feel bitter but still does and is....although she bothers me less now because she will only be there for a short while and isn't a housemate...

..yeah I would agree Ellen that I think she's sometimes and can be right about some things but even when she is..?...too often and mostly the way she says those things and her behaviour in a situation also make her wrong...

Indeed Ammi

Kizzy 15-06-2015 11:23 AM

I think that far too much emphasis is placed on what she says... it's crazy.
So what if she doesn't like someone, the rest of the house have free will to make up their own minds don't they?
It's not her fault if people agree with her they must feel the same, however she says it makes no odds to me. Personally I prefer plain speaking types to snidey wheedling manipulation it's no different in my eyes and has the same effect ultimately.

Yeah i can see that, fair point. There is not much sugar coating with her thats for sure.

Tom4784 15-06-2015 11:28 AM

There's a difference between 'plain-speaking' and being a twat, Helen's the latter, not the former.

Exactly. Giving Jale the nickname "slugworth" is not plain speaking, it's being a nasty bully, same as calling Christopher a wasp and laughing at him in corners with a group of friends as he walks by etc etc

...yeah I don't even think it's about sugar coating so much tbh, but more being more socially aware of boundaries and what's acceptable and what isn't and she's really in a lot of ways like child who 'reacts' to something that maybe it would be understandable to react to but not the way in which they have, so have to have that explained to them as well as listening to their point...it's like a 'basic' thing that most people just know but that she just doesn't seem to or totally disregards because she wants to do and act how she wants to ...so her 'being right' or her point etc is lost in her behaviour and isn't that often the way with children...

..I guess the most 'childlike' thing she's done was last years..I'm always in the right, always in the right, always in the right..and on and on etc..'...speech...

I mean 'plain speaking' as in her choice of language and/or delivery, yes some see it as common, uncouth, rude, loud yet essentially what she says is no better or worse in many cases than other housemates, it's seized upon because she's such a huge character.
Personally I feel Joel is a twat for his drip, drip of offensive remarks about other hms and his condescending tone in conversations... it's all relative.
