I for one am glad BB rigs nominations/ evictions..

I for one am glad BB rigs nominations/ evictions to keep the interesting ones in. For years the public have voted the interesting ones out and then complain when it gets boring. BB haven't got one twist wrong with regards to keeping the good ones in. Fair play :clap1:

People need to stop getting so emotionally involved in BB and think about it as a TV show, the 'bad guys' bring the best in the 'good guys' and they force people to speak their mind. These modern big brother contestants are too calculating and afraid to be themselves, it's annoying af. The people who are open and genuine get voted out because every one else pretends to be nice and tries to go under the radar. Not because they want to be liked but because they want the final and the money.

Manipulation is necessary to keep the viewers watching.

Amy Jade 19-06-2015 10:37 PM

Not everyone finds the same things interesting for a start but if this is focused on Marc staying then I call bs. He is boring, he'the biggest hypocrite and he's on repeat mode now.

Absolutely. There are still so many people that don't get it. If the BB audience could be trusted to put entertainment first, they wouldn't need to do what they do.

Apart from the 4 in 4 out the manipulations C5 have done have always worked out for the best. Especially this one, keeping Marc in.

Nope. What's necessary is 12 really good housemates who can carry the show until the end regardless of who goes and a live feed that allows us to get to know all of them.

Big Brother 6 did not have one piece of deadwood apart from possibly Vanessa

Whatever you think about Mark, he brings out the best and the worst in people. It's impossible to be fake and coast to the final with someone like Mark in the house because he'll call you out. That's why the likes of Joel etc are respected by Mark.

Which is why they rigged it for Jade to stay tonight. Oh wait.

They have run the show into the ground because of the manipulation and the lack of live coverage.

This is why they are in the hole they are now in. And those of you who defend them are helping kill this show off

As you can see its done wonders for the viewing figures.

Danny, Joel, Jack and Cristian are still there and you say Marc's presense has stopped coasters reaching the final lol

ok

Lampfan 19-06-2015 10:47 PM

Not fair play in my mind. Jade was the best HM of the 4 and she went.

That silly little Eminem wannabe didn't even know Nikki, Pete or Brian.

:fist:

You're half right, but that's only part of the picture..

The reason the viewers are down is because Big brother is having a mid-life crisis. It's an old TV show that wants to be young, but also wants to be taken seriously. Big Brother has an identity crisis, as half of it's fans want a more balanced series (like the older ones) and half want drama throughout.

The problem is I believe most big brother fans are older (27+ / mixed background), but most of the voters fit a certain demographic (teens/ working class), so the more big brother follows the money, the more it alienates half of it's audience and viewing figures drop.

Votes are easier to manipulate than ratings. They need to follow xfactor and allow some people to vote for free, so we have more balance in the show.

However if you think evicting Mark last week was a good move for the series and that people would tune in to watch Jack in his dressing gown all week then you're very mistaken. At the moment there is no balance in the show, we need a new voting system to represent the wider audience and only then should BB stop interfering and give us live feed too.

I think the reason people take issue with it though is because it tries to pass itself as a show where "you decide" and so when people see that we're only deciding within the tight limits that bb set by way of their twist, it feels a bit like we're being misled and that's frustrating. If it wants to be a scripted reality show then so be it, but they shouldn't imply that we're in control. It's patronising

You are absolutely correct. If the dullards had their way then Marc, Simon and Sam would be gone leaving the rest to sleep their way to the final. It would be as boring as hell in there without feisty characters. I for one don't want to see HMs rolling about under a duvet all day or sitting about in dressing gowns bitching.
