How reliable is Western Union?
 

I need to send some money to my sister urgently. Has anyone ever used it? :think:

Bank to bank is probably the best

You can use paypal to send money to someone quickly.

I've never used western union.

but it will take a few days, because she's in Italy. :(

Please for the love of god do not use paypal if its urgent. Chances are they will hold your sisters funds for 72 hours before releasing them to her

Western union is extremely safe. And she will pick it up in cash from her local office. Only needs some ID.

Oh, sounds great! I think it's better, because if o transfer it to her bank account it will take a few days. I'll speak to my bank first, then decide. :)

I *think* theres a way to do instant transfers even if the recipient is in another country (which I am assuming she is?)

Vanessa your bank can do a 'faster payments transfer' and the money will show in your sisters account immediately

Western Union I am told is fine but Vanessa as has been said your Bank will probably do things quicker and safer.
Don't touch paypal with a bargepole.
