A machine dilemma?
 

This is based off a Japanese Anime that I've just watched called Valvrave The Liberator.

Spoilers ahead for those that haven't seen the Anime.

If you was in a War between 3 Nations, and there was a Robot called a Valvrave that was powerful enough to take the enemies on, and multiple of units of these Valvraves exist in the world, but there's a downside, the Valvraves eat away at your life source and memories to the point that you eventually end up dying (you have to watch the Anime to understand why) would you still use the Valvraves to save your loved ones and your people? Or would you stop using it and save yourself?

I know that this will never happen, but I'm bored and I've just finished watching it so I'm interested in peoples answers.
