Preston Storms Off TV Quiz

"Ordinary Boys frontman Samuel Preston has walked out of a recording of BBC Two pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

The singer, 24, took exception when host Simon Amstell read extracts from an autobiography written by his wife, Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton.

"Preston just stormed off," said a spokeswoman for the show. "He literally walked out of the building."

Co-host Bill Bailey picked a member of the audience to take Preston's place for the remainder of the recording."

philmyer92 11-01-2007 04:03 PM

love that show and he should have been ready for something like that because its that sort of show

Ruth 11-01-2007 04:19 PM

Yeah, I posted that in the Big Brother General section - then realised it belonged here. Sorry, but I think he's a right plank for doing that. He must have watched the show, so he should know what to expect. Bigger stars than him and his wife have happily had the mick taken out of them.

Have to say though, it will be interesting to watch that episode!

The_Hitman 11-01-2007 04:21 PM

God he's such a loser. His band are awful, and now he thinks he's some big shot. What an embarrassment to guitars.

Arneldo 11-01-2007 04:25 PM

Ops! Sorry Ruth, i didnt notice it. If Admins want they can close this thread.

I think I'm gonna be alone in my view! I think it was really manly of him. That is just so ohmygodawwwww thing to do! I understand why he did. Like you don't just go mocking peoples wifes like that! Good for him!

The_Hitman 11-01-2007 04:36 PM

Running away like a little girl is the OPPOSITE of manly.

He wasn't running away! He was sticking up for his wife! And that is manly.

but if he had seen the show before, he should have known exactly what to expect. even if he had not seen the show, he still should know what to expect. I think he acted like a spoilt little brat.

Oh, and bb4eva - there's no need to apologise...I posted in the wrong section!

If I was sticking up for my wife, I wouldnt do it by running away. It shows a lack of character. Id stay and defend her honour like a man.

Ruth 11-01-2007 04:47 PM

True. Storming off is like having a child's tantrum.

chilledbootz 11-01-2007 04:56 PM

I'm with you too Laura.

Like he said
'say what you like about me, but don't say anything about my wife'

He did say he'd leave unless they stopped. But the matter was pushed. He was well within his rights.

Nah, drugs are for rock n rollers, not tacky pop stars.

philmyer92 11-01-2007 05:18 PM

i've lost all respect for him now infact as i speak i'm deleting his songs from my ipod well i actually i quite like boys will be boys but the rest are gone

Arneldo 11-01-2007 05:24 PM

I think it was abit childish. He has been on the show before and should know that everything is light hearted and should be taking with a picnch of salt.

But, if he did want to defend her then he should have stayed there and defended her - Walking out is just stupid diva-like behaviour.

Chrizzle 11-01-2007 05:26 PM

Good on him.

Everyone reacts in different ways, not fair to call him 'childish' though. I hardly call walking out of a studio, childish. How many children get on that programme anyway:bigsmile:

texbex 11-01-2007 05:29 PM

I dont get it what had chantelle said in her book like was it about him:puzzled:

Sam 11-01-2007 05:29 PM

lol It isnt fair when someone calls someone you love thick though, even though he should know what hes got into. thats the show

I didn't call the specific act of walking out of a studio childish. I said storming off is childish. Look - if you go on Buzzcocks, you expect to have the mick taken out of you - everybody knows that, and he should have known that however much he declares himself a serious musician, he is best known for marrying Chantelle. If he couldn't see that they would take the mick for that, he must be stupid - and if he didn't want them to say things like that, he shouldn't have gone on the show in the first place.

The_Hitman 11-01-2007 07:16 PM

He walked because he's a phoney.

He couldnt sit and defend Chantelle because he didnt have the words to do it. If he was genuine, he would have sat there all night long and defended her honour, no matter how long it took. His heart could have spoken for him. After all, he likes to promote himself as a professional lyricist.

The fact is, they showed him up for the phoney he is, and he sneaked off in embarassment.

Bubs 11-01-2007 07:28 PM

I couldn't agree with you more there Hitman!! Walking storming whatever he did just goes to show that he is a silly no man he is that likes to dish it out but cannot clearly take what is obviously a few jokes what that show is mainly based on.

Such a hypercrite as well as I have read countless interviews of him dissing people (supposedly he is joking in these ) yet when the tables are turned he does as some have already said have what appears to be a childish tantrum.

He really should take a good look in the mirror as he ain't as perfect or untouchable as he likes to believe he is!!!

x_mel_x 11-01-2007 07:50 PM

Go on Preston!Good on him-he was saying on radio 1 that he was gonna hit him so he walked off.Cant wait to see it i love that show!
