Wa Marc really THAT Intelligent or Just More Intelligent Than Most Of The HM s ?
 

I put it to you that Marc wasn't that intelligent.He was only more intelligent than most of the HM s and most of the people on BOTS and in Crowd for example

and let's face it you don't have to be that intelligent to be more intelligent than them ?

I could point you to the words he didn't understand the meaning of and his misunderstandings of other things as proof that he wasn't that intelligent but I won't bother because I know some will not pay attention to or take my comments on board.

I think he was smart.

So as much as I disliked him he understood how to get under so many people's skin except Nick who he knew didn't give a crap. He knew how to take advantage of scenarios, how to get AT, how to get the the best out of his personality, when to hold back e. g. he didn't Lord it over Aisleyne when he became a Hotel bb2 guest as we expected, knew how to process information eg he knew he was popular from the moment Sam and Marc in their first week were chosen as the newbies to nominate rather than himself, he knew how to differentiate himself from the others, he knew to align himself with week Hms, I've Showbiz, he knew how to show different sides of his personality e. g. SCIENCE MARC, when to be nice. Shrewd maybe a better word.

........so shrewd he did not even make it through his 1st eviction.........

how happy he is with that will depend on his BB contract............how

much he is in demand for future shows?

EBANDIT, I am not a Marc fan, but I am not going to make out he was a thicko just because I didn't like him. Helen was dumb but got to final and won - with a pass. Marc was Unlucky as he was up against weak hms in a VTE which favours bores like Sam. Had Marc gone up against a Danny he would have stayed. He was trying to break the clique, but he ran out of time.


Marc loos like a DUMB fake tanned tattooed muscle Mary airhead TOWIE reject - he knows this - and he used it to lull people into a slight false sense of his non stupidity. :joker:

The name of the game is to survive week by week, he was out the very first time he was up proper, not that smart really.

When you have done 4 years in the army, then gone on to take a degree in chemistry, then you can flap your lips about Marc not being very smart.:nono:

I've done 9 years in the army and have a degree in Nuclear Physics.

HES AN IDIOT. so he has a few qualifications big deal, his social skills are poor his judgement was appalling and he has serious behavioural issues

no one in that house has been particularly intelligent. Joel, is most certainly not intelligent, and Marc was just more intelligent than the rest of them

If he's smarter than crowd, he's already smarter than average. If so, that is smart, that's how smart is defined.

Hes tactical, methodicAl, but not quite so smart as he was very see through and clearly got his gameplan wrong.

And let's not forget that his friendship with Helen didn't really fall on whether he was smart or not. He was very loyal to her unlike the others and like he mentioned in his interview to Emma he wasn't prepared to stab a friend in the back like the others would.

There is more than one type of intelligence. He may be academically smart, but he would get an F minus in 'how to win friends and influence people' as the majority of the HM's and the public didn't like him as much as he believed they would, or should. He is a terrible judge of his own character and the effect it has on others. He thinks he's the dogs bollocks and a great laugh and that everyone should love him and 'get' him, but he's really just a pumped up little self - important man with an inflated ego and a cruel line of 'banter'. Maybe getting the boot out of the house will teach him some humility, but I doubt it.

At what point did Marc say he wanted to win friends and influence people? He said he wanted to stir **** up.

He showed he was smart and everyone including the housemates and presenters of the show had to admit it even if they personally didn't like him.

I don't remember him taking exams and handing in coursework while in the big brother house. Clearly they weren't referring to him being academically smart.

If Marc had stirred **** up AND won friends and influenced people in the house and out of it he'd have walked away as the winner so problem. He wasn't socially smart enough to get the balance right. He showed a nicer side too rarely. Coming across as a grade A prick and a cocky sod 80% of the time isn't a very intelligent path to success with people. So academically smart, yes; socially smart, hell no!
