Big Brother 2017: Discontented Winter [Winter Mini-House - FULL HOUSE POSTED]
With Big Brother's ratings slowly getting lower, I have decided to take a new road in creating a Big Brother series. It's a well known fact that Celebrity Big Brother in January gets the best ratings, so I have decided to switch the schedule around. More will be explained later but first of all, the eye above has been designed as a continuation of my Viacom Takeover project. As this won't be anything major, I've taken aspects of that project and changed it around for this one. The eye has been designed to resemble a very harsh and cold winter. More will be posted soon enough but I wanted to get the eye up. Scheduling: Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother are both given a huge shake up in the way they're planned and scheduled on Channel 5. Celebrity Big Brother remains on air twice a year, and civilian Big Brother just once. In a change from the traditional run, Big Brother will now come first. To accommodate the show, the year before these changes are implemented, the show will be given a break from the air. Following the final version of the summer Celebrity Big Brother and the final traditional scheduling run, the series will then be off air between September 2015 and January 2017. January - March: Big Brother 17 July: Celebrity Big Brother 17 October - November: Celebrity Big Brother 18 Big Brother 17: The civilian edition of Big Brother will be cut back to just seven weeks. Big Brother would return on Thursday 5th January and run for 58 days, eventually ending on Friday 3rd March. This means that the civilian series would have less major competition and potentially increase viewing figures. The series would have 12 Housemates overall. Celebrity Big Brother 17: Following the run of Big Brother in January, Celebrity Big Brother would then return in July for the next series. Celebrity Big Brother would launch on Monday 3rd July and run for 26 days, eventually ending on Friday 28th July. This means there is a larger gap between the two series, giving a fair chance to both in terms of promotion and scheduling. Celebrity Big Brother 18: Celebrity Big Brother would then return for its contracted second series in October. This series of Celebrity Big Brother would be shorter than the other, launching on Thursday 19th October and ending on Friday 10th November, lasting 23 days. As there is more competition in October and November, the series would be cut short to try and maintain the ratings. |
Ooh.

That eye. :flutter:
I'm laughing how it's the BB15 eye template though. :hehe: Love the Discontented Winter theme too. Very historic. Here for the garden being filled with piles of rubbish bags. |

Big Brother: Scheduling Changes Big Brother returns for the sixteenth year of the show, but this time things are a little different. Lounge reminds me of BB9

House reminds me of a very nice house

Thanks!

Just out of interest, the memory wall reminds me of BB15's wall, but blue.
Just felt like it? PS. Love the 1-way glass in the exterior stage. |
That DR is the best I've ever seen
BB in Winter would be interesting! Should work well! |
I do like the more open eye but really think the whole idea of how the crowd is set up (and indeed whether the show actually benefits from having one) needs changing completely. For the studio now I'd actually go for a BB Canada approach now where you just see the evictee leaving from inside the house and then through the magic of TV see them arriving in a studio through the "front door" which is actually a few hundred metres away (i.e where BOTS is currently filmed). Indeed given they've had to evacuate the set three times over the last couple of years or so there is a strong case for abandoning the current eviction set up all together.
As much as the show needs a break I don't think a complete break would work now - I'd at least split the difference with one celeb series (or All Stars perhaps) next Spring. Civilian BB in the Winter just doesn't seem right either - might get away with a March/April launch but think the practicalities of a Winter series and needing outdoor space for tasks etc. makes January tricky. That said though the house is very nice and I've always tended to prefer the Winter look given to the house for the series in January. October doesn't really work for Celeb BB too as X Factor and Strictly go live - and CBB just won't get any press attention ahead of them. September is a better option though, and it looks like that's what C5 are going for this year. Indeed if C5 insist on two celeb series I'd now repeat what they did in their first year and launch the civilian series off the back of the first Celeb series of the year. Perhaps Celeb BB in March, civilian in April/May then a second celeb in September. |
I love this design ♥
