Has it occurred to anyone?

That he spends so much time in his dressing gown because maybe he has body issues?

Liam- 09-07-2015 10:16 AM

Someone with body issues wouldn't be freely enjoying themselves in the pool without a shirt on, nor would they be sharing a multitude of baths with people.

I've seen his tits more times than Harry's so that can't be the case

Niamh. 09-07-2015 10:18 AM

Not really no, clothes cover more than a dressing gown

smudgie 09-07-2015 10:19 AM

It's his comfort blanket.
He said himself that it has a lot of sentimental value to him, Christmas present from his mum and dad.
Bless him.

Beso 09-07-2015 10:20 AM

i'm sure nick wears his a lot more.

Today 09-07-2015 10:22 AM

Clearly as a hm there are times when he has to/wants to participate in activities which require him to remove it.
It's just something that I thought maybe had an impact on it.
I can also understand the comfort blanket idea.

Exactly but not receiving any criticism for it. Why all the flack for Jack?

Mick 09-07-2015 10:25 AM

I have not heard him complain about his weight or talk about reducing it etc so he must be comfortable with the way he is and nothing wrong with this.

I think the dressing gown has become his identity (I would love to see him exit the winner wearing it) and I think its to his credit that despite being advised by one of the hotel guests that it was going against him and as I recall being ridiculed by Simon and some of the "legends" he continuous to wear it.

I said this a while back but people don't want to hear it. Often people see fat and make assumptions. They forget that often low self esteem and other things go alongside it. Over weight people will often wear long clothing like dressing giowns or coats on a hot day to hide their body somewhat. Obesity is as much an addiction as drugs and alcohol and I think could be treated with a little more sympathy than it is. People can be very cruel about appearance/visual flaws without knowing any of the history behind them.

This.

Not to mention, whilst a BB housemate can obviously have body issues, they can't have ones that are all that serious to go onto Big Brother for the country to see you at all times of the day and night. No matter what you think of them, that takes balls IMO.

Today 09-07-2015 11:20 AM

Nikki anyone?

MrWong 09-07-2015 11:23 AM

Danny and Christian were saying that he doesn't have many clothes on last nights highlights.

The clothes he does have are really tight and ill-fitting.
The dressing gown is probably a lot more comfy to wear.

Livia 09-07-2015 11:26 AM

I think he's just comfy in his dressing gown, I don't think it signified deep psychological issues.

Today 09-07-2015 11:30 AM

Perhaps Nikki was a bad example, I'm not suggesting any deep psychological reason, just that whilst he wears the dressing gown the housemates comment on that rather than his size which is what was happening initially. A distraction technique if you like, I'm thinking that he is less conscious of his weight than others until they use it as a weapon against him.

Ashley. 09-07-2015 11:33 AM

A few laps around the garden could fix his issues.

Maybe... I don't think he's particularly conscious of his weight. He calls himself "pie face" and I've seen him with his top off many times. Maybe he just likes lazing around in his dressing gown. I like lazing around in my PJs.

Neither do I, It could be just that he feels at home there and relaxed and that's what he does at home alternatively it could simply be a subconscious thing that the remarks and digs stopped when he was wearing it and he gradually as a result wore it more and more often.
I just think he's getting an awful lot of **** over his dressing gown whilst others have far less endearing quirks of their own.

Same, first thing I do when I get in from work is change into my PJ's

Maybe he's trying to hide his eviction outfit
