I assume its a slow area.

[The father of a woman found injured alongside
her dead boyfriend three days after a car crash
which police apparently failed to investigate has
said she is on life support.
Officers are believed to have found Lamara Bell, 25,
and driver John Yuill, 28, dead in the Renault Clio on
Wednesday morning after it left the road near
junction nine of the M9 near Stirling.
Ms Bell is in a critical condition at a hospital in Glasgow.]

So many parts of Scotland are really remote, surprised this kind of thing isn't in the news more often... tragic to hear about, I hope that the man was killed on impact for his sake, it's bad enough that the woman's been alive and in that condition for 3 days...

hang on it was on the M9 near Stirling!

The problem was the cops did not follow up the call to say a car had crashed off the motorway

Guy tried to kick in the massive windows at my work about 6 months ago. Police were called, asked about witnesses. We said "But there's a big CCTV thing right there??" (it's a tall post with cameras pointing in 6 directions).

Police informed us that most CCTV is for show and, whilst they do work, a lot of the time no one is watching them and they're not recording.

Police quietly informed us in a "don't spread this around, but..." sort of way, I should mention.

So... y'know... shhhh TiBB... don't tell anyone! D:

that is absolutely true, most aren't recording at all, only in known hotspots. There are also strict privacy rules on which directions cameras can be pointed in

Clearly not a particularly busy stretch of it if nobody else noticed the two people inside the crashed car for 3 days after somebody made the initial call though

The M9 is a busy enough road but in some places there's not much around it, so if the car went off the road and came to a stop somewhere hidden from the road, then it's possible that thousands of people drove past and didn't even see it.
