Big Brother bosses have run out of money...

The budget for Big Brother 2015 has been blown by bosses.

This year’s series ends next Thursday, a week earlier then planned, but it’s been claimed that ratings aren’t to blame.

Rather producers have simply run out of cash which is also the reason behind this week’s Cash Bomb twist.

BB2015 had originally seen the show’s biggest prize fund ever at £150,000 but this has been more than halved to £72,100 as things stand.

Extra costs have included keeping Time Warp housemates Helen Wood, Nikki Grahame and Brian Belo for an extra week, adding Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace to the house line up and signing celebs for the Hotel BB task.

It’s all meant that the money has run dry with seven days of the series left.

A source told The Sun newspaper today: “Bosses have had to lower the prize fund because they have run out of money with all the old stars coming back, which is why the ‘cash bomb’ task was launched.

“The show has also been cut by a week to also save money making it one of the shortest Big Brothers ever.”

At 66 days long this year’s series is the shortest for more than a decade, excluding 2011’s first run on Channel 5 which aired outside of its usual summer slot in September and November.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 didn’t comment on the money claims to the newspaper but did tease more twists ahead for the Cash Bomb theme.

Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5 with the final next Thursday, July 16.

Mess. Amateurs. What more can I say.

LukeB 11-07-2015 10:59 PM

utter idiots tbh

JoshBB 11-07-2015 10:59 PM

They can't even budget lmfao.

If they had a low budget in the future, maybe it'd even be a good thing.. less twists they can buy I guess.

it Just shows of much of a mess the bosses have done to ruin BB.

This is the same production team that forgot about the General Election, what did we expect

Pete. 11-07-2015 11:17 PM

They just need to cast right in the first place to make a great series not pay off all-stars

Denis O'Connor = GCSE Media student confirmed?

Have they even got enough for CBB or is that a separate budget.

I think timewarp thing was a complete waste of money and they shouldn't have done it, it obvs shows they want to chuck drama down our throats and the whole storyline was exhausting tbh.

With the amount of ****ing LED/disco lights installed in the house it's no surprise money runs out elsewhere

load of crap, they cant and wont run out of money, impossible.

Carnoch04 12-07-2015 07:07 AM

The prize fund is back up to 125,000 now. Seriously, does anybody really believe they have no money left? 150 grand is a fraction of what it costs to screen BB. If they couldn't find that amount, the show would be off air long ago.

BigBrotherfan4ever 12-07-2015 07:18 AM

I don't believe for one minute they've run out of money

DemolitionRed 12-07-2015 07:32 AM

If I'm going to believe something like that then it has to come from a certified press officer with links to the source and not Josh Darvill who is merely the lead web developer for Tellymix. I've read so much false information on that site that I wouldn't trust a word of it.

sampvt 12-07-2015 07:34 AM

The reason why its been shortened by a week is because they are running out of ideas and viewers, not money.

Vanessa 12-07-2015 08:17 AM

They can offer Cristian as part of the prize. :amazed::joker:

What a mess. Can't make a good series or budget. Poor Channel 5.
