Which finale format do you prefer?

Channel 4:

or Channel 5?

I didn't think it was a competition

I loved the Channel 4 ones being split into two shows, with an 8 out of 10 Cats BB Special in between.

Event telly. Those days are long gone now.

Emma's CBB15 finale outfit was disgusting. Looks like she's wearing a fencing costume, without the mask.

Firewire 16-07-2015 03:31 PM

Channel 4 without a doubt

Pete. 16-07-2015 03:33 PM

Channel 4

jackc1806 16-07-2015 03:35 PM

4. But tbh 5 tried a split for BB14 and that was wrong with an hour in between, 30 mins is perfect.

Channel 4 finals felt like events, 5 feels like an mass eviction. I hate that ****ing stage :omgno:

Channel 4 9 100.00%

Channel 4 finals always had a much bigger feel about them, with the massive stage being put up especially for the final, the audience was brilliant, the atmosphere was awesome.

The BB14 Final was actually good looking back. Had it been on a Friday night, instead of Monday. And the finalists having longer interviews. Then it would've been perfect.

TBH, Channel 5 don't need to do a split show. Just add an extra 30 minutes to the show, to make it 2 hours. Introduce the ex-housemates from the eye, have a decent amount of highlights showing the finalist's final day in the house - not just showing the housemates during their final dinner, and longer interviews for the finalists. On C5, they're about 4-6 minutes. And have a good C4 style best bits.

They also had the budget for two sets of fireworks on Channel 4 (I'm assuming it can't have anything to do with them not being allowed to set off fireworks past a certain time in a residential area because they've only done them later at the end of the show rather than when the winner leaves). A few sparklers either side of the staircase doesn't cut it.

(oh and opinion alert - I don't like having highlights from the previous day in the final)

Neither because it's a montage of their dinner speeches and it's a bit irrel ngl

I was thinking about that.

Wouldn't it be better, if they just scrapped the final day highlights. And just started off the show, re-introducing the ex-housemates, and asking them who they want to win. Then going straight to revealing who's finishing in sixth place or what not.

That way, it saves time, and it means longer interviews.

And have the Final Day highlights on the Saturday, after the final. (Similar to how C4 had the last highlight's show the day after the final).

I think that would be better. Granted that final day higlights show would rate badly. But the hardcore fans would still watch it.

I quite liked the final countdown show that they did for CBB12 - perhaps they could do one of those in the future?

zakman440 16-07-2015 04:20 PM

Also, the fact that no-one's voted for Channel 5 :flutter:

No one watched that as it clashed with the soaps. It also meant no highlights during the final only interviews so that's even less of an event.

Can't say I have noticed the difference. :p

Jack_ 16-07-2015 04:33 PM

Channel 4's and it's not even close. I too also miss the shows being split in half (the same goes for evictions as well), it's good having a half an hour break in between I think, it makes it a night of event TV. Sadly, those days are long gone.

BB7's schedule of 8:30 - 9:30 and then 10:00 - 10:30 (extended till 11:00 for twist nights/the final) was perfect  when Channel 5 try a split they always make it an hour which means the show has to be pre-recorded and that is awful :bored:

I completely forgot C4 split it in two. Did they announce the evicted hm at the end of the first segment or the beginning of the second?

First, then Davina would say 'you'll be leaving the house in thirty minutes time', the second show would start and we'd get a couple of minutes recap what happened in the gap (as if we'd ever get that anymore </3) and then they'd evict them and interview them

Nostalgia at its very best. They did this from BB5-BB10, if I recall correctly.

Oh yeah, i was thinking how anti climactic it must be to tune into the 2nd show but i remember enjoying the 'what you missed in the last half hour' montage now
