This has been my point all along really. These people are not monsters, or at least, they weren't born monsters. They aren't just evil beings who want to hurt / kill / cause damage. They are taken when they are young kids like this and they are systematically broken, completely psychologically ruined, in order to create monsters.

This is why bombing and using drones and shock and awe will never work. All it will ever do is create more displaced children with dead families to be taken in and easily converted.

What is the answer to dealing with ISIS?

Makes me sad knowing the amount of damage ISIS is doing and it feels wrong that we're powerless to do anything to help these people.

Probably one of the most horrible stories I've read. They've taken an innocent child, broken him and molded him into a monster. Unforgivable.

It's so sad to think that, if his circumstances were different he would have probably grown up happy and well adjusted but now there's no hope for him.

I know this might be controversial but I think we should just... leave them to it. This is not going to go away. No army can stop an idea. These people have been pushed to the brink and are fighting back against what they see as decades of Western oppression in a region that's already full of ethnic and religious tensions, it's not like a case of Axis vs Allies - this is a big unholy mess. This is more or less what Catholics and Protestants went through centuries ago in Europe.

I wholeheartedly agree. While ever we continue to poke into other people's affairs and think that we own the world and know what's best for it, the longer this will continue. Is it really of any surprise that things like this happen after everything we've done to them?

Lots of people have joined ISIL as adults incidentally, they're not all poor children taken away and brainwashed. A percentage of these - let's call them people as I don't want to get into the "name calling" conversation again - are educated and know exactly what they're doing.

Seriously though why are we allowing such a big threat to grow? The whole world should be trying to put a stop to them imo instead of complaining about not wanting to be in the EU, or moaning about immigration all of the time.

Absolutely, we cannot just let them get on with it, they will find their way here and they will do these sickening acts to innocents in the UK as well as as they have already started to in other Nations.

As you say, even here in the UK, we are going to waste millions at least on a referendum as to the EU,time consumed possibly creating more pointless divisions between the UK particularly and other European countries,when this is what we should be really fighting to sort out.
All working and coming together to get this scum off the face of the earth,once and for all.
Also sorry for this terminology but this makes me really mad,by any means possible and necessary to do so too.

The real threat in this is not the actual horrendous brutality of the acts that are being carried out. What this is doing is changing the worlds perception toward the violence. If they keep doing this over an extended period people will become acclimatised to it, no matter how horrible it is. That's how humans cope with these things. The effect of this is far more wide reaching than some barbaric murderers in a far off land. It will affect our humanity.

In particular with the UK instead of doing this stupid referendum that will force most people to vote yes in the end anyway, we could actually keep that money that will be wasted on a referendum to fund the Military instead of cutting it all of the time, and we could hopefully get a lot of European countries and the USA to help and join us too.
