Should there be a new voting option for future series

"End the show now and give the money to charity they are all first class wankers"?

That's my choice what's your alternative?

Pete. 17-07-2015 03:44 PM

I just want there to be normal nominations

Jack_ 17-07-2015 03:48 PM

Yes, ban the public from ruining the show and let the housemates vote each other out, the fair, interesting and more ~real~ way

MB. 17-07-2015 03:51 PM

Just do vote to save and don't cast odious people like Helen and Marc that benefit from that kind of system

BB4fan 17-07-2015 03:52 PM

Vote to save would be better than this eviction rubbish.

zakman440 17-07-2015 03:52 PM

Mix of VTE and VTS with free app/online voting.

Vicky. 17-07-2015 03:52 PM

Vote to save...

Or as I said years back, 2 votelines for each housemate, one to evict and one to save. Evict vote total taken off save vote total...

That way if your fave is up you can help save them, but if someone you dislike is up you could still chose to evict them. Will also stop the ridiculous thing of people who actually have a personality being nearly sure to go. Will be a much better measure of actual popularity too...

Jack_ 17-07-2015 03:54 PM

In all honesty I think it should just be a rolling vote to save across the series. Let's be honest, normal noms barely happen anymore and aren't going to anytime soon (and I think they're largely boring anyway) so just scrap them for good.

It'd increase competition between fans, probably generate a lot of revenue and you could even have leaderboard updates shown each week to the viewers but not the housemates to keep things exciting.

Oh, and most importantly, we'd probably keep the essential characters around for the duration.

Problem with a rolling vote to save though is...someone could be great for the first week, then disappear and coast to the final based on the first weeks votes

I agree. Well, apart from Marc, I liked him and don't think he's at all similar to Helen but that's for another thread. :hee:

My issue with VTS is people like Conor benefiting, but just not having awful people like him in the first place would be a good idea.

True  but then I'd have thought vote tallies actually increase as the series progresses, obviously there's nothing to prove this either way but I would reckon that's the case

Am I the only one who likes VTE?

It's the only thing that is similar to the C4 series, which we all hold in higher regard anyway. I don't mind VTS for CBB.

So I think it's fine the way it is.

Although, I wouldn't mind one VTS with the whole house up, like 3/4 in to the Civvy series, like around Week 8 or somet (Similar to Luke and Nikki sort of thing).

I like VTE because it gives us the chance to specifically get out the nasties (rather than them being essentially rewarded for being twats with VTS) and because I associate BB with VTE, but I also appreciate VTS at times too.

This. Especially the BIB.

I prefer the sound of Who Goes? You decide, as opposed to Who Stays? You decide.

I think I'm just weird, tbh.

Absorption 17-07-2015 06:15 PM

Could we change VTE so that it means 'vote to emigrate', ie, they have to leave the country rather than hang around for magazine deals and BBBOTS, etc?

Now this is a solution worth looking into, alas too late for some of us who are defo moving on.

This.

Have a spin off show called' Marshmallow Teddy Land 'for the people who don't understand the concept of Big Brother and just want Nice housemates instead. Then they can watch the girl next door do her make up for 9 weeks and the rest of us can watch Marc 'F-ck Their Fridays" every day

Then you're left with the boring ones / fencesitters !

I'm wondering if ditching the prizefund might help.

But then there's HMs like Nick who do little but just want to be in there for the BB experience.

How about TWO BB's in 1 ?
Prize for the first ££££ winner (who leaves say week 3).
Then real BB winner wins at the end.
Or something like that to ensure they're not just thinking about the final.

Could still be the case ?
Just cos it would be VTS doesn't mean the motto has to change ?

Like could be "Who Goes? You decide ! To save Chloe call....."

I quite like Vicki's idea of VTS - VTE.
But are 2 phonelines practical ?

Vote to evict is perfectly fine. We're going to get some disastrous results either way but at least VTE gives us a chance out the idiots who this show chooses to venerate for whatever reason, like Jim Davidson, Katie Hopkins, Marc, Helen, Perez Hilton, etc.

the_answers 18-07-2015 12:35 AM

Perfectly fine ?!
Awful series and Marc not making the final was a joke.

Why should the "don't likes" outweight the "do likes" ?

For every VTE (for say Marc), as a voter you'd have to VTE EVERY other HM just to re-address the balance.

Undoable and hardly fair.

...which would be fine, except 'the concept of Big Brother' in its original form was not what you've described. It was a group of people put in isolation and monitored to see how they would interact without contact from the outside world...they would sink or swim according to their own actions, based mainly on the impressions they made on one another. If someone acted nice in the house but the viewers thought otherwise, it was up to the HMs to suss it.

Obviously, since then it has (d)evolved into a show full of Z-list wannabes ("Showbiz!") and caricatures of humanity, with strings being pulled in all directions by ratings-chasing producers.

Great if that's what people want but don't try and make out that that is 'the concept of Big Brother'.

No it wasn't. I don't like watching what is essentially the same episode 30 times in a row. Marc had to go because there was no potential for any forward plot movement as long as he was in there.
