*The Official CBB16 ratings thread!*

I'll start it now, unless there is another (forgive me)

Last SUMMER (CBB14) launched with 2.61m officially

Predictions for the OVERNIGHT launch this time?

I'm saying 2.5m

AProducer'sWetDream 23-07-2015 11:56 AM

If the promotion is anything like as bad as it was for civilian BB, then I predict around 2.2-2.3.

MB. 23-07-2015 11:58 AM

2.2 million

Will. 23-07-2015 03:04 PM

let me see what last years got... and I'll get back to this thread...

Will. 23-07-2015 03:06 PM

2.4M I'm guessing if theres good promotion.

If it's launching around the 21st then they should reveal the eye about the 7th August and have a good 2 weeks of promotion.

Sod cbb shortening bbuk which I'm not happy about

Maxxie. 23-07-2015 06:38 PM

Slightly better than last yeas, does anyone know how CBB12 got 3.18m? It was only two years ago so can't see why it can't get that now with using whatever they used to attract that rating for a summer cbb.

Natalie. 23-07-2015 06:40 PM

2.4

Because CBB12 had names that would have drawn viewers and it was riding off the success of BB14

CBB14 got a 2.75 official launch rating, so CBB12 probably got the extra 300k from BB14 as that had an extra 300k than BB15.

Will. 23-07-2015 06:48 PM

CBB14 didn't do very well in ratings but overall it wasn't a fantastic series, the cast wasn't really a ratings winner compared to CBB12.

CBB16 cast sounds very promising, and this will hopefully reflects in the ratings, most of the rumours I know.

Rob! 23-07-2015 07:10 PM

2.3m

TomC 23-07-2015 07:49 PM

Because any without 'official' in the title definitely isn't official!!! xxx

RichardG 23-07-2015 08:00 PM

2.2m maybe if we're lucky

Fair enough but imo CBB14 was a much more entertaining series and the line up was a more or less the same standard, maybe CBB14 beating it by a push.

Last 4 CBB series, but remember to look at only CBB12 and CBB14 as they were summer series just like CBB16 will be. CBB13 and CBB15 being on January will always be higher and a summer CBB won't ever launch as high as a winter series.

CBB12 Overnight- 2.83m
CBB12 Official- 3.18m

CBB13 Overnight- 3.40m
CBB13 Official- 3.69m

CBB14 Overnight- 2.36m
CBB14 Official- 2.75m

CBB15 Overnight- 3.27m
CBB15 Official- 3.64m

I honestly think CBB will launch at a series low, I mean the BB16 final ended with 1.28m, I can't see them finding a million + viewers for CBB launch so soon after BB16.

Last 4 overnight and official finals with comparisons on how much they lost/gained in terms of OFFICIALS.

CBB12 official for final- 2.59m (lost 590k)
CBB13 official for final- 3.71m (gained 20k)
CBB14 official for final- 2.47m (lost 280k)
CBB15 official for final- 3.03m (lost 610k)

Surprisingly CBB15 lost the most from launch to final as the last week was oddly a low week when just a week prior to the final it was getting 3.4-3.5m. Still don't get that.

Meanwhile CBB13 still remains the only series since BB7 to actually gain from launch to final.BB1-BB3, BB5-BB7 are only series in the entire history of BB to gain from launch to final, and CBB13 finally joined them, and became (I think) the only CBB series to do it. I don't have the CBB4 final and launch numbers so maybe CBB4 did it too.

The CBB13 final figure of 3.71m is still fantastic, oddly enough a CBB15 regular episode matched that 3.71m as Alexander walked from the show on a Sunday episode. The two ratings of 3.71m, along with the CBB8 launch remain the highest ratings of BB on C5.

And in terms of a normal episode of Civilian BB, the aftermath of Daley's ejection still remains the highest reg BB rating on C5 with 2.11m.

the cast was interesting but there wasn't anyone really who would pull in ratings (fans).

Jason. 26-07-2015 11:52 AM

I have a feeling this CBB will rate badly.

Has anybody else noticed that summer CBB usually averages an extra 0.5/0.6m more than the civilian series.

For example:

BB13 = 1.6m & CBB10 = 2.2m
BB14 = 1.9m & CBB12 = 2.3m
BB15 = 1.6m & CBB14 = 2.1m

So, if the same pattern occurs, I think this CBB will average around 1.9m/2.0m, considering BB16 is averaging around 1.4m. Which would be awful, considering BB14 rated the same.

Ashley. 26-07-2015 12:22 PM

I hope it rates badly. Production need to see the error of their ways.

CBB production is normally better, although power trip nastiness has been sneaking in recently

I think it will be.

But I don't think some of the alleged names this series are big enough draws, even though they'll be really entertaining

If they are sensible, they'd use the gap to promote it...

Also, it's launching sorta at the end of the summer holidays which might help

But to be honest, if they do promote it well it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth as BB16 had less than 2 weeks and no proper promo

BIB 1 -

I think the reason the ratings dropped during the last week of CBB15 was because it just became too draining and repetitive to watch with Hopkins and Hilton being shoved down our throats at every given opportunity by the producers. It became the spitting image of the draining conflict that dominated BB15 and CBB14 - two bad series, which both happened to rate badly. Hence, why the ratings were considerably lower during the last week of CBB15. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Jump on during the last week of CBB15?, so maybe competition - although I remember the Jump airing before BB, so maybe not. I do think that awful Bombshell eviction thing wasn't good for ratings, either. Especially having a show at 8pm, which gained about 1.7m. Not to mention the last week of CBB15 was in February - the first time ever for CBB, as it usually ends late January, so maybe that had something to do with it.

BIB 2 -

BB4 also gained from launch to final. BB4 launched with 7.05m and ended with 7.23m viewers - a 180k gain.

Also, CBB1, CBB3, and CBB4 gained from launch to final as well. So CBB13 wasn't the first/only to do so.

CBB1 launched with 4.6m and ended with 5.7m viewers - a 1.1m gain.
CBB3 launched with 5.4m and ended with 5.8m viewers - a 400k gain.
CBB4 launched with 6.7m and ended with 7.3m viewers - a 600k gain.

No series post BB7, has gained from launch to final, except CBB13. Which is quite an achievement - considering that was almost a decade earlier. I think CBB5 had something to do with finals rating lower than launches. CBB5 launched with 7.3m and ended with 5.3m - a 2m loss. Since then, every series has gained lower in the final than in the launch, including BB.

I call dibs on the CBB17 Ratings Thread, in January. :hee:
