Time for a Survivor Fiji style casting?

Where no one is considered a minority in the game. As this season proved, it gave people of colour a fair chance at playing the game and weren't subconsciously targeted for being different.

YES

BBUK needs it too

Marsh. 28-07-2015 09:54 PM

Positive discrimination. Yay. :umm2:

I'm sure the ethnic minorities would love it. Let's have an all black cast so we can have an all black final and a black winner guaranteed. Woo!!!

Macie Lightfoot 28-07-2015 09:55 PM

And even more importantly, almost all of them were recruits <3 <3 <3

It's not an all black cast though. The point is being made that for that season the producers weren't just ticking off one black woman, one black man, one gay, one Asian, one transgender if they're lucky. We need more of this in the BB franchise tbh like BB6 had

AarynGriesfan 28-07-2015 10:17 PM

Yes lets try to duplicate the cast of one the most disliked seasons if Survivor.

You don't even watch BBUSA bye

Anyway the whole point of this type of casting isn't to ensure an ethnic person wins, it's to show everyone is equal and that people of all races are represented equally and given a fair chance.

They shouldn't be ticking boxes, although this is a bit over the other side of the spectrum.

They need a true representative in all ways, such as age and background as well.

That's exactly what was done.

Your point is? I love it when recruits are found like this. Recruits aren't inherently bad, it's the way in which they are cast predominatly on Big Brother that's the issue.

Also, my point was regarding the OP not Macie's post, so your supposed 'witty' emoticon is irrelevant.

:umm2:

(Note to self, Raph has no sense of humour)

Headie 29-07-2015 02:36 AM

(Note to self, Marsh and his humour should stay away from the BBUSA section since he doesn't even watch it anyway)

Love how you completely ignored the point of my post. Everyone deserves equal treatment and representation. I'm tired of seeing the same old type casting every year.

Wasn't this series of Survivor hated though?

I thought so.

I wonder what did go wrong with it? I've only watched China and Gabon so far.

A million things really. Mostly they just picked a horrible cast. I think they were too worried about having a certain number of people from a specific race instead of just finding the best people possible.

That can happen quite a lot sadly, don't get me wrong I like a diverse cast on Reality Shows (hence why BBUK has been **** for me since it's move to Ch5) but casting people to fit certain criterias by forcing it is never going to work, or not likely too.

BB6UK is the only time I can think really where that actually did work.

Macie Lightfoot 29-07-2015 07:22 AM

Fiji's really not THAT bad and I never understand why it gets so much hate when Cook Islands was right before it. I personally think Fiji's weaknesses have more to do with the general misogyny you see on Survivor and the Haves/Have Nots twist ruining the pre-merge. I thought the post-merge was decent enough, but it takes some determination to get there.

Headie 29-07-2015 01:58 PM

I actually liked Fiji  It's better than Cook Islands, Redemption Island etc.
