No

Liam- 11-08-2015 01:05 PM

I'd say 'make your own mind up' and then show them Paranormal Activity.

Liam- 11-08-2015 01:06 PM

Also, that was clearly a joke, the correct answer is maybe

but then you would have to say that for unicorns, leprechauns, devils, monsters, grinches, trolls, goblins etc

some parent you are

Niamh. 11-08-2015 01:13 PM

If a small child is asking if ghosts are real, it's probably because they're afraid of ghosts so you should answer no whether or not you believe yourself..imo anyway

It's a good thing I'm not a parent :flutter:

If a child liked something that doesn't exist, I wouldn't tell them it doesn't, like Santa, if a child asked you if Santa was real would you say no? there's nothing wrong with a child believing in nonexistent things.

at least when the child is an adult they wont get bored to death by people telling them that they have seen a santa..

Samuel. 11-08-2015 01:20 PM

No. Not even sure about going through with the Santa thing when I have a kid... I remember being pissed off when I found out he wasn't real, I didn't understand why my mum would lie to me

Crimson Dynamo 11-08-2015 01:22 PM

not here for the santa shade

:notimpressed:

Agree with this...^^

The santa thing is different as it's magical (although I know Joeysteele will disagree). I am still a bit gutted it's not real.

Josy 11-08-2015 02:56 PM

I would say 'Yep the one that lives under your bed is' :fan:

Natalie. 11-08-2015 02:57 PM

I'd say no because I wouldn't want to scare them

LukeB 11-08-2015 02:59 PM

Well i told my cousin they only come out when a child is being naughty and he has been good ever since :fan:

Saph 11-08-2015 03:00 PM

yes

Why be pissed off, you got all those presents out of it :D

Livia 11-08-2015 03:12 PM

I'd say there is no proof, but that doesn't mean no.

Suze 11-08-2015 03:12 PM

Can't tell them ghosts are real if I am not even sure I believe, so maybe tell them probably no, but they will in time have to make their own minds up on it.

Tom4784 11-08-2015 03:17 PM

Yes, just to scare the everliving **** out of them. Show them the Grudge (THE GOOD VERSION) and tell them that's what happens to people who go into haunted houses.

Or alternatively, there is no proof so no. :idc:

I think what I told my kids was that I didn't believe in them because I have never seen any proof, but they were welcome to prove me wrong :fan:

smudgie 11-08-2015 03:57 PM

I would simply explain that if they ever saw a ghost they mustn't be scared as it won't hurt them:shrug:
To be honest, my two kids were more concerned about the two pixies that lived at the end of the garden that told me and Santa if they told any lies..worked wonders.

Kizzy 11-08-2015 11:31 PM

I believe in spirits and so do my brats, it's nice to know our loved ones don't really leave us.

Jessica. 12-08-2015 01:41 AM

I would give them honest advice, saying; ghosts don't exist, some people choose to believe they do but they are wrong.

Mystic Mock 12-08-2015 02:58 AM

If my Niece or Nephew asked me I'd scare them by saying they're real as I like being a fun Uncle to them.

If I was to have a child myself however I'd probably tell them no as I wouldn't want them having sleepless nights.
