Chelsea medical row: Dr Carneiro v Jose Mourinho

JOSE MOURINHO has confirmed that Eva Carneiro and Jon Fearn will not be on the Chelsea bench for Sunday’s game against Manchester City.

As exclusively revealed by Telegraph Sport, club doctor Carnerio and first-team physio Fearn will miss the trip to Eastlands, but Chelsea manager Mourinho insists he has not shut the door on their possible return later in the season.

Mourinho was furious with Carneiro and Fearn for running on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in the 2-2 draw with Swansea City and suggested the pair did not understand the game.
It's pathetic how he's relegated Dr Carneiro* away from the bench and training as if she's some surley U21 player. Ffs she's a fully qualified DROCTOR!?!?! Regardless of whether Hazard was feigning injury, the ref waved the medical team so they ran on.

Why doesn't Jose just admit he has f%&ked this up and come clean this is all about deflecting focus away from Chelsea's awful performance against Swansea

* Why does the media call her Eva Carneiro, she's DR Eva Carneiro or just Dr Carneiro. We always hear the media call male people in science and medicine by their full medical and qualification titles eg Professor Brian Cox, Prof. Stephen Hawking, Dr Phil, Dr Conrad Murray.:nono:

The male doctor that has been banned from the bench was also referred to simply by his name in the article you posted, so no point in bringing gender into it.

But Mourinho, as usual, has been a **** over this. I don't know why some people are surprised.

she needed taking down a peg or two and Jose did just that

Locke, the 'male Dr' is not a doctor, he's Jon Fearn, a physiotherapist, which although physiotherapy is a highly trained medical profession, it's not on par with a Doctor in terms of qualification and titles.

Leather Trumpet, why did she need taking down a peg or two? A smart woman challenging Mourinho got too much for his ego let's face it. Mourinho likes to be the smartest one in the football world, he can humiliate the guys by pouring cold water over them, so it must crucify him that this confident woman can take him on. Why are women in leadership positions such a taboo. It's obvious Mourinho has an issue with her. He probably absolutely hates the fact that his boss, his "line manager" the Chelsea CEO is a female. It's probably what's fuelling this and the Mrs Benitez rant.

Could the Doctor Carneiro enter CBB?

From Duncan Castles who writes for The Times..

Quote:

"Mourinho is said to have held reservations about Carneiro's role within the first-team squad since at least last year. While there is no question about her professional abilities, the Portuguese coach was concerned that the dressing room dynamic was affected by the presence of a female. According to a source, some players had expressed misgivings to the coaching staff about the set-up, arguing that it forced them to alter their usual behavior in a team environment. Famous for his attention to detail, Mourinho has always sought to eliminate factors that might reduce his team's likelihood to win matches."
