BBLB clip from bb5 showing how the doors at the top of the stairs work
Anyone have a link to the BBLB episode that shows how the doors were operated?
I can't find it but I remember. There is actually a crew member inside the House behind a panel in the wall who operates the doors.
Do you remember what day it was? thanks for answering :)
There was a BB7 BBLB that did they too I remember. I think it was a Sunday episode because it was part of the employee of the week segment?
thanks so much! I'll try and find it on youtube

Thanks :) just watched it
Welp the doors aren't electronically operated?
I'm trying to find a video about the front doors of the house, but I can't find it; plus the one above is only for people in the UK.
I thought they had a button which they press and it would automatically open and close the eviction door. The same way they can lock and unlock other doors in the house and how they turn on/off the hot water, etc.
That's really interesting. If anyone finds the video, please post it. |
FINALLY found this.
(Skip to 32:30). I'm pretty sure the setup changed with the house redesign in BB9 though so that no-one had to manually open the doors. |
Wow, that's really interesting. I never knew there a loft hidden behind the door.
Scary to imagine waiting at the top of the stairs waiting for the door to open unbeknownst to the fact someone is standing right next to you on the other side of the wall. Do they operate like that still nowadays on C5? |

I want to know how the eye opens... anyone have any ideas?

The eye stage is electronic and is opened by a computer but the main house doors are still done by hand. The eye bridge is also turned manually by someone underneath it!
Also worth mentioning the doors are still opened by Brian! Same guy since 2002.
dear god it's like having hamsters in wheels running the projectors :joker:

What do you work as?
I open big brothers back doors ;) |
Wow, I thought they just used a bit of string and gave it a yank.
I remember this bit, always wanted to watch it again but didn't even know which series to start looking in, thanks alex for asking for this and thanks zakman for finding it. Also this clip reminds me how much better in was having the generic voice doing the eviction countdown and "...you have been evicted" announcements.

Why do I have a mental image of Brian Dowling earning his living by cranking a wheel to turn the eye bridge? :joker: |
