ideal for terrorists to target

bots 26-08-2015 10:50 AM

what that would do is place all the potentially vulnerable together creating more of a target. Crazy

Cherie 26-08-2015 10:59 AM

Ridiculous how would this work during rush hour if there were room on the women only carriage? Unworkable and stupid

Not been on it, does it get overcrowded like the tube? Or the overhead at rush hour?

That's their culture though, let's go the whole hog and cover up head to toe :nono:

Helps if you read the article... it's a proposed solution for an increase in late night abuse, I haven't heard anyone else coming out with any proactive ideas :/

jackc1806 26-08-2015 11:29 AM

The man's a throwback to the 1970s, he reminds me of Lenin (dramatic but his way of speaking does) and that's not a good thing

Early Days

He is a Good Future Labour Leader
and has chance to become the PM in 4 and half years

Personally I don't agree with it and I also think policing it will be near impossible really.

However, at least, since it is an issue raised by those women who have been harassed and sexually harassed before, especially later in the evening, then to at least be looking at something as to the issue,is better than actually saying and doing nothing.

The women who have been near or actually harassed or sexually harassed or even assaulted are the ones who should be involved in the best way forward as to this and it seems clear Jeremy Corbyn is at the very least someone who will listen to their thoughts and experiences, rather than just pay them lip service like most politicians.

MB. 26-08-2015 11:45 AM

Well that isn't actually even what he said

bots 26-08-2015 11:46 AM

it was unsafe for many travelling late at night on trains in the past, I personally always picked the busiest carriage if i was travelling late at night. I did witness a drunken attack on a passenger, where we all got up and restrained the drunk. Job done.

These days, all trains have cctv installed, so they are much, much safer than they used to be. In fact I haven't seen any incidents since they were installed, so I'm not sure the issue really exists now. Of course there will always be the occasional nutter, but women only carriages aren't going to prevent someone who really wants to cause problems from doing anything.

I did read the article :hmph: I am in favour of making transport safe for all, there needs to be a police/staff presence rather than making stations and trains automated facilities, a women only carriage is not the solution
