When Psycho Spiders Attack

So this evening at 2:30am I was trying to get to sleep but I felt something on my head, I brushed it off and I felt it on my arm and then I shouted "oh my god" and run out of bed.

Turns out it was a massive spider, looked super scary. I've now gone down the stairs my mums lounge and I'm sitting here after the attack.

Spiders are fascinating. I used to be petrified until one day I was given a tarantula to look after for a friend... I eventually bought my own and she lives on a table in my living room and should live approx 30 years :)

I use to love spiders, not sure why I've suddenly become so afraid of them.

They're ace they get rid of all the bugs and flies! We have a resident ginormous house spider that's lived here about 7 years now, we know it's him because he has 7 legs haha. Shows up every now and again!

thats cool, I think I'm more scared of smaller spiders - they look creepier to me for some reason.

Were as I don't find tarantulas that scary.

They would never hurt someone would they?

Some species can but they rarely bite they'd rather just run away. They'll never intentionally "come for you" ha so if one's crawling on you it's not there to bite you it's just exploring!

lol, yeah I wasn't sure what it was! Tarantula aren't that dangerous are they?

Tarantulas are venomous and have huge fangs so if they got you it'd be like to big bee stings (which you could have a reaction to) and some species' venom is more potent than others (mine's a Chilean Rose Hair so the same as a bee/wasp). They also can kick sharp hairs off their back at you and if they go in your eyes/up your nose it's like pepper spray!

How are you defending spiders in any way? If what happened to Will happened to me I would actually die.

They're amazing pets very cheap to buy (tarantula about £10, setup total cost about £25 then food like crickets from pet shops cheap). They shed their skin too every now and then as they grow it's fascinating.

Speaking of lizards, I have a Bearded Dragon too - brilliant pets, like little dogs ha :)
