Posting New Topics - please add to existing topic if possible instead of creating a duplicate topic
Posting New Topics With all the attention in the media this is a busy time for the site. Would all users please remember to check to see if their post fits within an existing topic before starting a new one. Further to this could all users who start a new topic make it clear what the subject of the topic is about. This will make it easier for people to find your topic and add posts to it. Thanks for your help Red |
It helps to give your topic a fairly descriptive subject also.
Tip: you can increase the number of topics you see per page in Control Panel / Edit Profile / Topics per page so you don't have to click through multiple pages of topics to see what has already been posted. But please don't set it very high... |
A lot of Topic are getting started in the wrong places on the site.
Can you make sure that ONLY Big Brother 8 topics are posted in the Big Brother section of the site. If you notice a thread in the wrong section please report it so it can be moved. Thanks in advance Red |
A reminder To CHECK before you post! Please don't post what someone already has, search before hand. Thank you.
Can we also make sure we are posting in the right threads too  |
I've just had to merge at least 8 different new threads started about the first BB House advert.
Please, Please, PLEASE check that there is not already an existing topic before you post a new one. Ta. |
One final plea to PLEASE check for existing topics before posting a new thread.
Thank you, and ENJOY BB8!!!!! :cheer2: |
Just a quick note to say if you use Todays posts and search you can see if a topic is already being discussed or has been before you post yet another thread about a topic already in full swing
|
Try and make posts to an existing topic about this Emily issue. There's a number to choose from.
While we're at can I remind people not to personalise topics and cast dispertions on other forum members. As a rule of thumb it is worth considering whether it is really necessary to use the words 'you' or 'your' in a post. |
General Posting Tips - Please read
General Posting Tips I have been cleaning up the Big Brother 8 forum for the last 3 hours or so and I have some pointers to help everyone out. Thread titles need to be meaningful if people are to know what your thread is about. If a thread doesn't have a meaningful title then people won't bother to read it or post to it and it might get deleted. The first post to a thread should explain what the thread is about and make a valid point. If it's not then it could get deleted. Threads should be started in the correct section of the forum. To many threads about single housemates are started in the Big Brother 8 section and not the contestants own sections of the site. Posting with the caps lock key on and/or posting in text speech isn't allowed on TiBB and you post will be deleted or removed. People should avoid swearing in text speech in posts. Again this could lead to your post being edited or deleted. Things from the live feed should be posted in the live feed topic generally to avoid spoiling the highlights show unless they are of major importance. (Link to live feed topic - click here) People should check carefully before starting new topics. The number of duplicate topics is amazing and in one case I merged over 5 topics on the same thing. It only takes a few minutes to check through todays Big Brothers post to check if a thread has already been started on the same subject. If you post press articles make sure you include the source name in full and a link to the original article. Finally remember the golden rule no insulting other members as this leads to warnings and temporary bans. If a member insults you report the post and let the Moderators or a member of the Admin team deal with it. Thanks for you Help Red |
May I make a plea that if you are making a post about a certain housemate to make that post in the contestants section here and not in the Big brother 8 part of the forum... A Charley thread lives under the housemate title Charley Please use this forum http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...ay.php?fid=199
That's here http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...ay.php?fid=199 And just incase.. http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...ay.php?fid=199 here also   I beg of you please use this... http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...ay.php?fid=199 So..... Threads about Charley go in the "Charley" part of the forum and threads about Tracey go In the Tracey forum.. Please remember that thanks. |
Please check before you post! Please also post in the RIGHT forums provided on TiBB. Thank you.
Also this thread is about Big Brother 8 only, not individual housemates.. about the show in general.. we have seperate sections for news and info on certain housemates. THANKS! |
I really don't want to keep going over the rules on a daily basis.. But, can people please check before they post.. Only post what is relevant to Big Brother 8 in the BB8 section of the forum.
Can I also ask that any new threads created are not done in full capitals it is against the TiBB rules and lately has been slowly creeping back in. Thanks in advance for ALL of your help. |
