Will SCD Die?

So with X-Factor dying (ratings are bad and it's gone past it's sell by date) will this happen to SCD?

King Gizzard 25-09-2015 01:54 AM

Doubt it, SCD will always have its target audience, that said, I think it'll end before XF and pretty soon with all these BBC cutbacks

Black Dagger 25-09-2015 08:44 AM

I think they will be just as strong as the past few years tbh.

Mystic Mock 25-09-2015 08:50 AM

I think it will depend on if the show takes itself too seriously or not.

I can't understand why IAC is so popular and hasn't been retired ahead of these two shows

joeysteele 25-09-2015 09:41 AM

I cannot see it and certainly not for this series, with likely the army of Daniel O Donnell fans tuning in to watch him on this one.
The launch 3 weeks ago got about half a million more viewers than last year, just to see them all paired off.

Yes the support for I'm a Celebrity baffles me. I used to love it (I still watch it out of habit like all of these reality shows) but it's literally the same old 'twists' with the two camps and immunity for the first elimination won, same 'villains' doing the whole week of trials in a row and they are the same now and the casts are genuinely weak, last series IAC is far more Z list than any of the recent CBB's in my eyes.

Niamh. 25-09-2015 10:01 AM

People like watching Celebs eat balls I guess

Black Dagger 25-09-2015 10:02 AM

Even that must be a bit straining now. "Ooh look at him gagging on cock" yes I can view that sort of stuff every day of the week.

:fan:

Although, Gav hates reality TV shows, everyone one of them bar IAC, I must ask him what it is that makes him like that one and not the others. I think it could be that there's more trials and tasks etc rather than just people arguing and drama though, also Ant & Dec help too

Black Dagger 25-09-2015 10:08 AM

Yes I think the humour of Ant & Dec are definitely what keeps up the appeal now. They do manage to get a celebrity I absolutely LOVE in every year as well so I give them credit for that.

One of the reasons why I don't watch it anymore, because i find them overused and it's boring now:laugh:

but IAC is rubbish altogether espically after last year

Niamh. 25-09-2015 01:09 PM

I still love Ant & Dec

Bring back Juke Box Jury

LiquidGold 26-09-2015 08:46 PM

SCD has been coming on for what 11 years?? and it will continue
but i do hate how they change some of the format and it has become more gimmicky and they have too many contestants in the final

Pete. 26-09-2015 08:53 PM

SCD had its dip and is on its second rise

Survivor >>> IAC btw

BigSister 26-09-2015 10:48 PM

With SCD though it gets a good mix like the younger contestants Georgia May Foote and shows people like, Eastenders and also older contestants likie Daniel o Donnell and Jeremy Vine.Although my mum said tonight she doesn't really understand its appeal

RichardG 26-09-2015 10:57 PM

I'm sure it will eventually but probably not for many years yet
