If you were told you could know the exact day you would die/would you want to...

..a bit depressing maybe but Simon Cowell says that he has had tests and been told what age he'll die..obviously it's just a life expectancy thing based on his current health which could change and done through DNA but if someone told you that you could know which day you would die and so that you could do things that you wanted to before it happened etc... and if you have family..parents/children, to make sure everything was going to be ok for them...etc...would you want to know..?..

He told the Daily Mirror: “I had the DNA test done in LA which predicts when you’re going to die. They take your blood and DNA, then give you back a sheet of paper which says ‘We think you’re going to be alive until xxxx’.

“Obviously it doesn’t take account of the fact you might get hit by a bus tomorrow, but I got told I’d die aged 95 – which is about as good as you can expect.”

I will be tempted but no

Not at 16 because medical treatment will advance a lot in years to come, and new treatments etc. will mean people can live longer.

So the prediction may not be accurate.

But once I'm 50-60 then yes.

Absolutely not, that would be my worst nightmare I think, knowing roughly when I'm going to die, I'd be a nervous wreck

No. It'd reinforce the fact that life is meaningless/everybody is going to die anyway/what's the point. Though maybe it'd be a reality check too, by making you very aware of your mortality it'd give you the motivation to start doing the stuff you always wanted to. It could work either way I guess...

I think Ammi's premise is that the date you are given as going to die is immutable, unchangeable though, regardless of science or any other factors.

And yes - I would love to know the exact date of my death so that I can better prepare for it, and also draw up a list of 'parting shots' with which to extract bloody, brutal revenge on those who have wronged me without fear of judicial recrimination. Bliss.

No.
I can't see any point unless the test could point you in the right direction to alter it.
Having already faced death, knowing I had a short time left, I decided not to write/record anything for my two young children in case I didn't survive the op.
I reckon when your time is up then that's it:shrug:

I'm with Liam, I'd be absolutely bricking it. My mum was told by a medium that she didn't see anything past 26. She spent years worrying about that and had a worrying 26th year.
