[The Met says deploying officers outside
the Ecuadorian Embassy to catch the WikiLeaks founder
"is no longer ... proportionate".]

Ecuador should provide his security. I see no reason that taxpayers should fund it.

They are saying if they let him leave
its their fault.

He should be in prison, then no one would have to worry. Except the taxpayer again who'd be footing the bill.

Ridiculous that they wasted so much money on trying to arrest him, if America's proxy wants him that badly then they should foot the bill themselves.

its Sweden that want to extradite him I thought, let them foot the bill

the fact that this country lets in real rapists, and the police won't touch them, they do this PR thing that they are all tough on crime, and stand guard at a building, they make me laugh, if it is a high tv person, they jump the hole tough act, but if it is a local person, they do nothing,

No Feck America on this

Good move.

Why the govt don't just allow Ecuador to take him to Ecuador and be done with it once and for all is beyond me.

This to me has been a waste of millions and massive amounts of police time too.
