Would the world be a better place without any religion?

it gives people strength when they are in need - but its the sick ones that twist it to justify there actions.

It would be a different place. No diversity, no rules. Religion has shaped this world. It has made some people better, it has made some people worse. Nothing can be changed or altered, that's just how it is.

There would be nothing to argue about. No... my gods better than your god arguments etc. We could all go camping together and sing songs around the camp fire. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

No more Christmas... no more Easter eggs... no more Bank Holidays... you'd miss it all LT.

On a public level, inarguably. On a personal basis? Nah.

It wouldn't be any different.

I wouldn't go that far. 9/11 wouldn't have happened, ISIS would've been unheard of, and people wouldn't use passages from the Bible to justify their sexism and homophobia.

None of that's to say that religion is necessarily a bad thing, of course. Just that religion is a course of crime and injustice in this world, as are a lot of other things, whether good or bad in themselves. I'm not anti-religious but there are some life-shattering events that wouldn't have happened if religion didn't exist. Just as slavery in America wouldn't have occurred (at least not on the scale it did) if white people didn't exist, but that's not to say that all white people are racist arseholes. But I don't think you can really say that everything would be exactly the same.

There would be holidays, people would think of other excuses to have little celbrations and family time

People wouldn't use bible passages to justify them because the bible wouldn't exist. No doubt something else would be there for people to justify awful actions..

No it wouldn't be a better place,something else would annoy us.

No because humans would still be humans doing stupid things and finding justifications for their terrible actions.

life with out religion is like my life with out awful poetry. its not going to happen. and while we have religion - we will have those who twist it to justify there actions.

With no religion around we could then focus on the real nasty folk of this world like... traffic wardens! :fist:
