Why Do People Bully?
 

Why do some people bully others? I've never bullied anyone so i don't know what goes through a bullies mind but I do think it's either to fit in because it's 'cool' or they are upset with themselves so they want to make others feel the same.

A lot of it is to do with insecurities

I imagine its because it makes the bully feel like they have power over someone, and that means they're not at the bottom of the 'food chain', usually people who bully have been bullied themselves, sometimes by adults (when they were children).

Some do it to fit in, some do it to compensate for their own insecurities, and some people are just dicks.

That's the word I was looking for but it didn't come to me mind:laugh:

..there are different reasons why someone can bully...sometimes it's just attention/negative attention because they feel that to be better than no attention at all...it can be a learned thing, that they have experienced bullying themselves ...also power and insecurities as well..jealousy also...many, many things...

...and 'pack bullying' because being part of a group and feeling accepted is something that they need so can go with a 'pack leader bully' as well...and not always even realising it's bullying...

I've been bullied myself and wouldn't dream of bullying anymore as it's cruel.. but it made me stick up for myself because I don't let anyone treat me like **** or talk down to me anymore then it stopped.

brilliant question. I also think its down to envy and jealousy.

I also think some people get peer pressured into it as well.

They have suffered/are suffering (rough life) so they want to make others suffer too and/or they do it to make themselves powerful which they necessarily aren´t in their own lives. Some people do it because they might have some kind of personality disorder or a type of mental illness.

I have been bullied myself on multiple occasions and know how it feels.

Its a way of showing authority and letting everyone know your the cool kid.

Why can't people just be themselves? If Some doesn't like you get over yourself but don't make everyone else lives hell
