Christmas Shopping...

When do get your start getting Christmas shopping in? I don't mean food shopping obviously but gifts for others...

I'm about half way done although it's all the bigger stuff I still need to get, I'm only buying toys and clothes for my younger nieces and nephews this year too and the rest of them are just getting money and either a selection box/gift set so that's less hunting around for toys.

Will. 25-10-2015 06:10 PM

We did most of it last week... a lot easier.

Smithy 25-10-2015 06:12 PM

This is what I hate about buying gifts, I don't like getting people the same things all the time and I think for ages what to get them and then once ive bought it start wondering if it was a **** idea

Dollface 25-10-2015 06:14 PM

I haven't started yet, I usually start in December but this year i'm going to try and get it done earlier, so i'll probably start looking at bits and bobs soon

Yeah like last year i got my parents fragrance and a few other bits and bobs, this year I'm at a loss, i don't want to get them fragrance again (even a different one) so i have no idea what to do :joker:

Dollface 25-10-2015 06:15 PM

I find it sooo hard buying for my parents/grandparents :(

Denver 25-10-2015 06:16 PM

Is it really bad I don't buy gifts ever for anyone?

Can you not do them a little hamper containing a few bits each of what they like?

No it's not bad, it's what you choose to do.

It's brutal isn't it

I'm the same with my OH's dad, I feel as if we always get him a bottle of whiskey, gift set (lynx etc) and either a playstation game or a foo fighters album.

Dollface 25-10-2015 06:24 PM

My dad loved his present last year, it's the first time i've thought outside the box and got him something other than a Lynx gift set  (It was an Alien boxset with all the Alien movies, which he loves)

BigSister 25-10-2015 06:35 PM

I usually start about beginning of October then get most of my things beginning of November

Jason. 25-10-2015 07:10 PM

I usually start around the weekend in mid-November. So in about 3 weeks time I'll probably start - the 14th/15th of November.

Moosething 25-10-2015 07:11 PM

Early December

Tbf some people have a lot of people to buy for and would struggle taking one big hit to their bank balance

Bottles of wine in, great for emergency presents and Aunt Mary, plus my neighbour friend.
Litre of rum and litre of whiskey in wardrobe for hubby.
All bought on offer over the past few weeks.
Daughter is home this week for half term so she is off shopping tomorrow with her daddy, she will get our surprise present for son, he will pick his own main present nearer the time.
She got the money to buy some clothes last time she was here and we bought her surprise pressie a fortnight ago.
Hubby will get some cash to buy what he likes and that is it..all done and dusted.

Locke. 25-10-2015 09:53 PM

Usually the 23rd or 24th but I'll probably just do it online this year so a bit earlier
