Driving without assistance for the first time today.

I'm driving across London to visit my parents, and this will be the first time driving alone and on the motorway. I have my trusty Sat-Nav but I'm absolutely petrified. Any tips/things I should know before I hit the wheel???

Don't crash

Stay calm if you make a mistake don't panic, I went past my exit on my first solo journey...

Yeah, that's what I'm scared about. I'm not very good at reading signs! Was always taking the wrong exits in my lessons.

Stick to the middle lane the whole way

Johnnyuk123 28-10-2015 03:49 PM

Don't overtake a cop car.:hehe:

I remember how scary that was! You just have to do it and get over the fear. You'll be fine! And if not, can I have your sat nav?

Stay away from the xar in front. Do not exceede 70 or much less if wet. Use you mirrors but also a look back when changing lanes in case of blind spots. Keep your dipped lights on and stay safe.

Ammi 29-10-2015 03:35 AM

...how did it go Ashley...?...

I'm alive! Just been without Wi-Fi... The drive was fine, especially on the motorway. I got quite annoyed going past London but managed to contain myself, then got lost in some estate before finding my Mother's house. Thanks for the advice <3

michael21 01-11-2015 09:22 PM

Its scary on the motorway driving fast

Kizzy 01-11-2015 09:22 PM

Have you just passed your test, I didn't think new drivers could use motorways?
