Me, I was in Local newspaper.

They wanted me to look angry as the local Enfield Town park pool was closed, like a kiddies water pool thing outside.

The funny thing is we already had a swimming pool at home lol :hehe:

It was about 2008 I think.

My nan has it framed in hall.

I've never been in the newspaper but I've been on the news twice. Once on BBC news because my primary did a fundraising event for Help For Heroes and one just this year when Ian McKellen came to Wigan and me and my friend represented my school at the event

Jamie89 29-10-2015 09:38 PM

Only 3 times :smug: lol

Twice when I was younger (I wrote a poem in English class that my mum sent to the paper and they printed it. And I wrote a song with my guitar teacher that my mum sent to the paper and they printed it.)
And once when I was at the swimming pool they were writing an article about the leisure centre and me and a bunch of other people were in the photo.
I should totally be on CBB.

Yes, my ex ŵas the local bigwig gangster and he made all the National papers...front page:blush:
Also when younger we had a big stabbing incident outside our house, all people involved were known to us and the police took the blood soaked throw off our sofa away. Made the local papers and the radio.

BigSister 29-10-2015 11:24 PM

Yeah I was in my local paper when me and my friend ran a tuck shop and also when it was my birthday I was in it once or twice. Also when I received an award I was in it a few times

Just once....as i were coming out of my local Co-op, there were photographers and the local independent politician, they seemed to pounce on me and shuffled me towards the politician, they asked me....."how do you feel about the closure of the local community hall?" I honestly didn't even know it were closing, so i just said....."oh....that's terrible...." and then they took a photo and said...."thank you..." to me, before sort of shoving me away.....i think i just didn't register what had actually happened, i got home looked in the mirror and realised no make up and hair a complete mess!!!

Well later on that week there i was page 6 stood with the local independent politician, looking a complete mess, and to make matters worse where i worked were all piss takers so i arrived to find my sewing machine covered in newspaper cut outs of me and said politician.......very embarrassing:blush:

Babayaro. 30-10-2015 07:49 AM

I was in it for voluntary work at a charity shop. I didn't mind but about 2 years after it was taken I realised the article had been on a bulletin board thing in my school for all that time and I had no idea about it :/

Crimson Dynamo 30-10-2015 07:50 AM

I was in it when I was a kid after winning a dancing competition. I've been in a few times for school netball / rounders things too.

Josy 30-10-2015 08:12 AM

My parents were in the paper a lot for fundraising.

My brother was in the paper because he was killed in a serious road crash when he was 17 (we were hounded by the press for months even going to the trouble of wearing disguises and knocking on the door to get some info, vile creatures)

A few people I went to high school with have been in the 'casebook' section of the local paper for crimes.

And a couple of people I went to high school with and hung about with are footballers now so they have been in the paper too

Oh also I coloured in a pic for farmfoods when I was about 8 and won a piggy bank with 10 pound coins in it, that was in the local paper

I was a flower girl in the local galaday and then in the neighbouring towns fair and that was in the paper

My brother and his dog appeared on the front page of our local paper. He had sent in a video for that You've been framed tv thing. He and the dog(border collie) could head the ball to each other. Someone filmed them heading the ball to each other 29 times before it hit the ground. They still show it on tv every now and then.

Drew. 15-11-2015 05:35 PM
