PLEASE HELP - tooth pain

I bit down really hard on a metal fork about 5 or 6 hours ago, I literally cried when I did it, I was in so much pain I couldn't speak or finish my dinner. After about 10 minutes the pain pretty much went away, it was just like a light throbbing. But now, all of a sudden my teeth are killing me. I can't drink cold water or even breathe in with my mouth open because the cold air hits my teeth and the pain makes me scream. Has anyone ever had anything like this? Should I be worried? I'm scared that my teeth are going to die or fall out or something. The pain is seriously intense.

Phone nhs direct and get the number for an emergency dentist?

Marsh. 01-11-2015 08:31 PM

No but seriously, get out and buy some painkillers for it tonight and call the emergency dentist first thing in the morning.

Teeth are generally really sensitive, take some painkillers or something and see if the pain goes away over the next few days

Dollface 01-11-2015 08:35 PM

i'll give it 3 days, if it's still painful i'll go dentist, but i'm hoping there's a dentist on here that can give me some advice, like i wanna know if there's a possibility of it falling out or dying

If she's luckily enough to get an appointment :worry: (depending on her dentist actually) I have to wait a week or so

Marsh. 01-11-2015 08:42 PM

I remember when I had severe tooth ache all through the night years ago and when I woke up the following morning the entire right side of my face had blown up like elephant man. :bawling:

I've never gone through anything as painful in my life.

Clove Oil usually does the trick for toothaches.

zakman440 01-11-2015 08:46 PM

Orajel is a miracle for toothache - if you can get some it will help take the pain away (though it's worth seeing the dentist as well).

oh god, now i'm expecting to wake up looking like a balloon animal :bawling:

yeah tooth ache is the worst pain i've ever experienced, when my wisdoms started coming through i couldn't eat for days :worry: turned out i had an infection in the gum

Kate! 01-11-2015 08:46 PM

Take ibuprofen if you have any

lostalex 01-11-2015 08:47 PM

it probably cracked the tooth down the middle, like a hairline fracture, and it might be pinching a nerve in your gums. definitely make a dental appointment asap.

Something similar happened to me this time last year. The pain was like nothing else. It was an upper tooth and the pain was so bad it would give me headaches and eye aches

Dollface 01-11-2015 08:50 PM
