What words annoy you for no reason?

Not like swear words or anything obviously offensive, but just everyday words that really bug you?

Mine is 'Plethora'. I don't know why, I've just always hated the way it sounds! If you say it really fast it's like you're trying to spit out a fly or something

Niamh. 04-11-2015 11:08 AM

succinct/succinctly, I don't know why but it bothers me  Also, hate the word awesome because it's so over used these days and doesn't actually mean what it meant when I was younger anymore

I don't mind poorly if it's used like "he chose poorly" but it annoys me when people use it to say someone is sick

Crimson Dynamo 04-11-2015 11:14 AM

That reminds me - 'specific', when people mispronounce it as 'pacific'

And 'Uber', like when people say they're uber hungry or something. NO! You're just hungry :fist:
