A Tesco store in Wales has created Britain's "first ever" job dedicated to untangling Christmas lights.

The job is being advertised for the Wrexham Extra store in north Wales.

The temporary four week job requires a special person to "relieve some of the stresses often associated with the Yuletide season, specifically, tangled tree lights".

I'd pass on that one, cannot bear wires all tangled together,I always use something to wind the lights or anything with wires on round, to stop that happening.

It's a silly job but work experience is work experience and you could probably get a reference out of it.

It could be therapeutic, a very unwinding experience

I'm actually A) quite good at it and B) find it strangely fulfilling and relaxing. Almost like a metaphor... as you untangle the wires, you untangle your thoughts? There's actually a significant amount of logic and forward-planning involved in this role :joker:. Might take a career break from my job for a month and do this? De-stress for a bit.

Untangling wires makes me want to rip a hole in space-time with my bare hands.I have done some ****ty jobs in my life but that would send me over the edge.

Destress? Have you read the person specification you are expected to detangle 3m in under 3 minutes, I don't think you will be there daydreaming idly untangling, an irate customer will be waiting :laugh:

Me too. I'd end up on some kind of tranquiliser. My friend Anna though, she loves untangling stuff... lights, jewellery chains... all sorts of stuff. I wonder if she fancies a career change?

I live like 15 minutes from there and I untangle my shoelaces might give it a go!

If they're not shouting abuse and demanding money (and occasionally getting blood on things... Why are they always bleeding???) then it sounds like a holiday camp to me.

Dangerous to untangle wires that have been bent the wrong way for too long, it would have been more cost effective to either not put them away tangled in the first place or chuck them and buy new.

the easiest solution is to get a tree with the lights built in ... never any problems :smug:
