Will You Celebrate Jesus's Birthday?

Seeing as the only reason that Christmas is celebrated is because its the day Jesus was born but will any of you raise a toast to him? Or will you say a prayer before dinner?

Marsh. 09-11-2015 02:32 PM

I'll be going to Christmas mass, yes.

Loukas 09-11-2015 02:33 PM

Jesus' *
Only saying that because people do it with my name too.. (Loukas' not Loukas's)

As for Jesus, some of my family go to mass. I'm not sure if im gonna go this year or not.

Niamh. 09-11-2015 02:34 PM

Technically speaking Christmas was stolen from the Pagans and I like to think that I just stole it from the Christians as my own holiday involving celebrating time with my family and time off work and food and drink and presents

So no, i don't believe in God or Jesus so that part doesn't figure in my celebrations

LukeB 09-11-2015 02:36 PM

Nope.

No, I'm an atheist, I'll be celebrating my own family's health and happiness instead.

Josy 09-11-2015 02:43 PM

I'll be celebrating a public holiday with my friends and family.

MTVN 09-11-2015 02:44 PM

He was born in the Summer though. Or Fall.

Depending who you believe.

No doubt I will watch carols from Kings over the festive season.
Normally watch something on Christmas Eve if there is anything on from a village church, enjoyed last years.
New Year I try and catch the Viennese concert if possible.
All traditional for me rather than the religious side.

No, just give me gifts.

Kazanne 09-11-2015 04:15 PM

A lot of people who celebrate Christmas will be none believers, who just take from the meaning what makes them feel better to celebrate something they don't believe in,that is why it is so commercialised today, for us Christmas does have a meaning, even though the birthdate may not be accurate .

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 09-11-2015 04:16 PM

But you also stole it from the Pagan Holiday worshipping some sun God or something so we're only following your lead :fan:

* By "You" I mean you plural Christians
