Random stabbings by Palestinians all over the shop - I have watched like 10 videos of Israelis being randomly stabbed or run over in the last few weeks.. what kind of life is it over there?

There has been a spate of stabbings of Israelis by Palestinians since early October, and one apparent revenge stabbing by an Israeli. The attacks, in which some Israelis have died, have struck in Jerusalem and elsewhere, and in the occupied West Bank. Israel has tightened security and clashed with rioting Palestinians, leading to deaths on the Palestinian side. The violence has also spread to the border with Gaza.

After a period of relative quiet, violence between the two communities has spiralled since clashes erupted at a flashpoint Jerusalem holy site in mid-September. It was fuelled by rumours among Palestinians that Israel was attempting to alter a long-standing religious arrangement governing the site. Israel repeatedly dismissed the rumours as incitement. Soon afterwards, two Israelis were shot dead by Palestinians in the West Bank and the stabbing attacks began. Both Israel and the Palestinian authorities have accused one another of doing nothing to protect each other's communities.

Muslims using religion to excuse murder yet again in the report below they are worried about some building being visited by Israelis so they try and stab as many jews as possible to make it better - unbelievable

this is what has been brewing in the middle east for the last couple of decades and those that flock to ISIS are just the older generation of them. I honestly think that we either go the slow route of education and protection of these kids or we shoot the crap out of them when they get older ... sad world

This like a normal day in Israel. It's a dangerous place and you're aware of that all the time.

I only find out about it on Liveleak, it never makes the news here at all

As seen with the mail this week how can we be sure the footage is current, where and by whom the attacks are taking place?

I can tell you from personal experience these attacks are frequent and on-going.

Are there similar acts happening on the other side?

I have not seen any reports of stabbings and mow downs from the Israel side

OF COURSE the footage is REAL. OF COURSE it's CURRENT. And the attacks are taking place ALL OVER Israel as they have for decades, and being PERPETRATED by PALESTINIAN terrorists - as they have been for decades.

I was referring to footage that was posted in the mail that was found to not be connected to the report.

..those videos are extremely distressing and as Liv said, this is an everyday thing in Israel../their world is something inconceivable to us...Liv, why is this not given media coverage..?..

I think this has been given quite a bit of coverage, violence has of course always been a part of everyday life for many Israelis but there does seem to have been a big upsurge in the recent spate of knife attacks. The violence comes as clashes have increased in frequency since Israeli security forces began to crack down on Palestinian worshippers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem last month.

Hamas' chief in Gaza on Friday called the spreading violence an Intifada, or uprising, and urged further unrest.

In a sermon for weekly Muslim prayers at a mosque in Gaza City, Ismail Haniya said: "We are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the Intifada."

"It is the only path that will lead to liberation," he said. "Gaza will fulfil its role in the Jerusalem Intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation."

So I think Israel step up security to combat terrorism, Hamas use the mosque/religion as an excuse "this is our holy muslim mosque yada yada you cant stop us going here to murmur under our breaths" and that gives them grievance to call for an Intifada and thus justifying their existence

Jerusalem is hardly touched on in the Quran. Alternatively, Jerusalem, and Israel in general is the place Jews believe was given to them by God. It is our spiritual home and has been for thousands of years before Islam even existed. Many Muslims live and work quite peacefully in Israel, but they are the progressive Muslims, Muslims who don't want to drag the whole world back to the dark ages.

I think the reason there isn't more coverage in the press for Jewish deaths in Israel is that the general consensus is that they deserve it. Every day rockets are fired from Palestine into Israel, sometimes from the roofs of schools and hospitals but it's never in the press. If Israel didn't have an excellent anti-missile system there would be many more deaths.

The only way there is ever going to be peace in the area is for a meaningful dialogue to begin. I can't see that happening any time soon especially when Hamas believes al-Bukhari's Hadith: "The hour of judgement shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: 'O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him'."
