DC and NYC are always a target. They're always ready for something.

I see a dead terrorist as a missed opportunity to gather intelligence.
I really hope any threat is identified and prevented.

In an ideal world they will find them before they attack and arrest them. Hopefully that's what will pan out.

A terrorist who attacks these cities with suicide bombs are aiming to die while killing loads catching them will not make them grass.

I agree. These people would rather die than talk. And chances are they are at the bottom of a very long chain of command, each level of which knows very little about the level above. What's more if there alive, there's the potential for hostage-takers to demand their release.

Yes I sometimes wonder if people have forgotten that the entire point of terrorism is to create fear. Kill a couple of dozen people in a small scale attack and watch hundreds of millions quaking in their boots convinced that it could be them next when they're actually more likely to be killed choking on a peanut.

I mean, I talked to a girl yesterday - not a child, mind, a 23 year old woman - who is scared to leave her house in a random, insignificant, run-down Scottish ex-mining town... "Because of ISIS". I mean for **** sake. The terrorists are winning because the world is packed full of genuine *******.

if the terrorists want to hit a city in a democracy, they will, no matter what measures are in place, they can always still attack someone some place in the city.

Obviously we don't want repeats of what happened in Paris, but in a city of millions of people, there will always be half a dozen nutters willing to cause some havoc. We have been fortunate up until now that these have not been regular events.

This could be a decoy , then they have time to get an unsuspecting country, don't see why they would announce it.

Nope - The terrorists are winning because for too long the self blind ******* who have denied the threat and apologised for the terrorists have been the most vocal and intimidating in silencing those who could see it.

That woman's fear may be irrational and the threat exaggerated in her perception, but that is the EFFECT of ISIS's success in perpetrating atrocities and NOT the CAUSE of it.
