Scott was right, 'speak to me like that again' is akin to 'I'll smash your face in'
I don't particularly like Scott, but I think he was right.
If someone says 'speak to me like that again' - particularly a guy - they don't follow up that threat with, 'I won't speak to you again'. It usually means ' I'll smash your face in.' |
Scott said that Brett said "I'll smash your face in." he didn't.
Regardless of if it's akin to it, it doesn't matter he didn't actually say it so  |
Hmmm, I'm not sure I agree completely. It's akin, in that there can be a comparison. So saying 'speak to me like that again' can be taken as a threat, as can 'I'll smash your face in'. But even though they could both be classed as threatening I think they're on different levels. And saying 'speak to me like that again' in the heat of the moment and then stopping yourself is much milder in my opinion than directly saying that you are going to smash someone's face in. That's much more threatening, so I don't think Scott was right to compare them directly.

Speak to me like that again and I will graffiti your clothes!!!

Thanks for the comments.
Agreed he didn't say 'I'll smash your face in'. But Speak to me and...I'll smash your face in' go together like Butter and Bread Fish and chips. :) |
It's a warning if nothing else, it's not professional that's for damn sure.
