May God look after the Belgians. All power to them. Brussels is so beautiful, I hope it remains that way apart for a few dead terrorists littering the sidewalks.

Hope any terrorists are shot before they manage to carry any attack out.

Loving their humour at this tense time...

'When, on Sunday evening, Belgian police asked citizens not to tweet about the armed operations that were being carried out around the country, anyone could have been excused for reacting with fear.

Belgian forces – searching for suspects in the aftermath of the Paris attacks – told citizens to stay indoors and not go near their windows for safety reasons.

They also appealed for social media silence about any police action users might witness – presumably to keep the suspects in the dark.

A tense time, no doubt. But Belgium reacted – how else? – with cats.

Instead of speculation about the sort of threat police might be reacting to, many people used the #BrusselsLockdown hashtag to post pictures of their pets.'

:joker: you have to laugh though really, hand wringing won't help. So rather than stocking up for an impending nuclear disaster, we need to pile up the tins in case ISIS offers the possibility of an attack, imagine if the fridge was empty and you were told to stay indoors and had no idea how long for :worry:

I thought the cats thing was funny but also monumentally stupid and unhelpful - surely the point is to not talk about the lockdown so the police can track people who ARE talking about it, i.e. terrorists?!

They asked residents not to tweet about any police operation or activity they might see so that any terrorists monitoring twitter was not alerted as to police whereabouts, they weren't told to stay off twitter Z.
