ITV Confirms The Voice, The Voice Kids and Spin Off Show

It's official: ITV has confirmed it has picked up The Voice UK and The Voice Kids in a big new deal.

The channel has also ordered an ITV2 spinoff show, with everything kicking off in 2017.

ITV - which beat off the BBC to win the series in a huge bidding war - confirmed today that it has picked up three series of the main show and two series of the children's version.

But ITV's director of television Peter Fincham hinted that it might not necessarily be the end of The X Factor.

"ITV is the natural home of big entertainment, so we are thrilled that The Voice and The Voice Kids are both joining our family alongside brilliant shows like The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here."

And ITV's director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell added: "From the compelling blind auditions, through to the nail-biting battle rounds, knockouts and live shows, The Voice has become a worldwide sensation and we are very much looking forward to its arrival on ITV in 2017."

It is not yet clear which stars will appear as coaches on ITV's version of the show, as Ricky Wilson has already confirmed that he won't be taking part.

The BBC still has one final series of The Voice UK to air, which will kick off in January 2016 with Wilson, will.i.am, Paloma Faith and Boy George in the spinning chairs.

Ugh ITV will ruin it

Vanessa 23-11-2015 11:46 AM

Oh exciting! Hope they do it justice. But keep Will, he's hilarious.

Don't really see the point. The format clearly didn't interest enough people here and that is the only thing that sets it apart from other shows so there is no point in changing it.

Exactly, ITV will just turn it into The X Factor and then the people that did actually like it will stop watching :hmph:

Poor ITV

Liam- 23-11-2015 11:57 AM

Please no more annoying kids with pushy mums, we get enough of that on BGT.

Tom4784 23-11-2015 11:58 AM

Yeah, it won't replace X Factor as they'll keep it in the same January timeslot. It got slaughtered by BGT in it's first year so it's not going to do any better than XF against Strictly.

That way ITV will have a major talent show on for most of the year bar a month or two break between each one.

I like the kids Idea, it's nice that there's something for them too :)

Rob! 23-11-2015 12:53 PM

3 talent shows? Really?

No give it a Chance
2017 The Voice ITV1HD & ITV2HD

ITV could make it a hit or they could destroy it

BBfanUSA 23-11-2015 12:58 PM

Eh, the American Version rules, which hopefully they'll adopt, aren't bad (Two are eliminated regardless of team.)

They brought that rule in last series

I hope they get the rights to the American/Australian versions for ITV2

Denver 23-11-2015 01:02 PM

I'd expect the will run the Normal on and the Kids back to back or the kids one at the same time as BGT but starting at 6/7 PM

For me, the problem with the BBC version of the show was that it looked a bit cheap in comparison to other formats around the world. I dont think the BBC does this kind of show very well. Hopefully, ITV will do it justice.

zakman440 23-11-2015 03:13 PM

It's a shame that the BBC has lost it due to cuts, but hopefully ITV will run with it. I've always said that the BBC version needed a spin-off on BBC Three so hopefully ITV2 will cater for this. The Voice Kids will flop though - it has in most of the countries that it's launched in, plus the fact that it's rumoured to be airing on CITV only.

Well as much as I hate this show this can only be a good thing, when it comes to talent shows ITV (or Syco, really) rule the roost. They should get Simon on board tbh, and then perhaps there'll be some ****ing life and entertainment injected into the format

Will should stay, and I expect they'll use this to launch Emma Willis' career on ITV too (I think she has a documentary show coming up soon but no1curr about that). Imagine if they got Dermot to present it though if he doesn't return to X Factor...now that'd be weird

Glad there'll be a spin-off too, one of the things missing from the BBC's version.

Oh, and MORE THAN THREE BLOODY LIVE SHOWS. Thanks.

Jay28jay2 23-11-2015 04:35 PM

Cant stand The Voice but I watch it anyway but I am so excited for the kids version... Stars will be made, however any sob stories it will be much easier for the public to fall for them

Simon won't have anything to do with as they have there own producers already and only singers can be mentors
