LGBT campaigners launch boycott: Zoolander 2

http://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/ce...-a3121686.html

In my opinion, I think it's a bit silly of them to say "the film endorses harmful and dangerous perceptions of the queer community at large" since the 'outrage' is only based off a few seconds of footage from the trailer.

Regardless, Zoolander's a bit of fun and should be seen as such, I think they're taking it a bit too seriously. If you're going to have a film that pokes fun at people, then no-one should be off limits.

I actually think it's attitudes like this which is why LGBT characters are represented in such a boring standardised way (or not at all) in general media because of studios fearing a backlash.

Oh yay, another thing for people to be over sensitive about, go world!!

I'm going to boycott it because Owen Wilson is in it, I think that's way more offensive.

You do not like his Nose?

Give it promo I guess. Anyone who's offended by a film before it's even been released doesn't really deserve to take part in popular culture anyway. Neanderthals.

Is it normal to wonder when you meet M to F or F to M if they have a hotdog or a bun?

Yeah I'd say so. It's just normal human curiosity. There's nothing malicious in wondering about someone.

"By hiring a cis actor to play a non-binary individual"

I can't even at this sentence. People who claim to be campaigning for equality defining things with obscure, yet arbitrary, terms. Well done guys. Really. Is it supposed to be ironic or something? I can't even figure that part out.

Meh, looking for offense. Whats new.

Kizzy 06-12-2015 08:57 PM

What is non binary?...
