Why is it not HomeTown?

Black Dagger 03-12-2015 08:01 PM

Awful beyond words.

depends what they perform, could be good I suppose. Just miss everything off the last album (from what I've heard of AHFOD so far it's a bit tragic too)

A nice 10 minute set of God Put a Smile on Your Face, Clocks, Viva la Vida (compulsory over there, probably their biggest hit, not so keen on it though), Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Paradise, Life in Technicolor II (my favourite song of theirs) and bringing out Frank Ocean for Strawberry Swing will be lovely.

Apparently Beyonce and Rihanna are joining in.

Quote:

After landing the biggest gig of their careers – the Super Bowl half-time slot – Coldplay are determined to fix you the best show yet.

And the Brit rockers are calling on Rihanna and Beyonce to help out.

3am can reveal frontman Chris Martin, 38, is in advanced talks with RiRi, 27, and Beyonce, 34.

He wants them to be part of Coldplay’s 12-minute performance at Super Bowl 50, which is on February 7 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Coldplay will be the first Brits to take the mammoth slot since The Who in 2010.

They will be watched live by an audience of 115 million in the US alone – wowzers – so they understandably want to make sure there are plenty of surprises in store

Our Super Bowl insider tells us: “Chris and his band know they’re not typically as showy as recent performers like Katy Perry and Madonna with all the dancers and, while they love a light show, they still want to bring a few surprises out.

“Beyonce and Rihanna are both keen to join in the high-profile ceremony and will add just the spark needed to make it an amazing and unforgettable show.”

RiRi is set to duet with Chris on Princess of China, a UK top five hit for the band and a Top 20 hit in the US, while Beyonce has laid down vocals on two tracks – Hymn for the Weekend and Up & Up – from Coldplay’s latest album, A Head Full Of Dreams.

Show director Hamish Hamilton hints: “I think Coldplay themselves are going to surprise a lot of people.

“They write great music. They’re great performers. They’re great individuals. They’re a great band.

“I think they and their energy and their positivity will surprise a lot of people in a very *positive way.”

Chris recently admitted being nervous about the event, saying: “That’s a big, big, big, big, big honour. It’s something we’ve dreamed about for a long time and it’s almost surreal we’re going to do it.

“We’re so focused on it right now, in terms of the detail, it allows us to ignore the fact of just how giant it is.

“At the moment I’m just thinking about the track and the stage. There’s going to be lots of opinions, which is OK.”

We’re sure they will be mostly positive, Chris.
